1948 Ford Heater

Can someone tell me on a heater with the inlet and outlet in a vertical postion which hose from the block go's to which inlet, top or bottom of which outlet go's to the bottom of the rad. hose

The hose from the head goes to the bottom pipe on the heater and the return is from the top of heater to lower radiator hose.

I attached mine opposite to what Cecil recommends and it still works! The hoses attached my way look less "tangled" IMO.

it will work either way..the hose with the control valve should go to the top of the engine

I have my brass "hardware store" control valve connecting two pieces of the lower radiator hose & located near the attachment to the radiator. I turn it on in the spring and fall and off during the summer.

Ditto. They'll work either way but this way looks better.
