This vacuum plate spacer was under the 8BA carburetor that came with the engine. It has the normal 59 A-B intake with the silencer so it wouldn't be needed. Anyone have any idea what it came from? I know I've seen them before.
The 46 Fordor has been on the back burner for about a year. I got very frustrated that I could not maintain a decent brake pedal. Couple of weeks back I had the thought of would it help if you welded a nut on the push rod to gain some additional adjustment? I got Chris (sugarmaker) to weld on the nut for me. The old push rod looked slightly bent, the pedal bushing should be replaced, and the clevis hole has some wear so perhaps a stack up of tolerances. Anyhow installed the new push rod and clevis and adjusted it out. Winner, winner chicken dinner we now have very acceptable brake pedal. Non factory approved repair but I was just happy it worked. At a standstill on the 46 at the moment as I cannot get decent brake pedal to no brake pedal at all. All new shoes, lines, hoses, and master cylinder. Bled 3-4 times and have adjusted brakes several times. On the second master cylinder. Also shortened master cylinder pushrod and that gave the pedal some resistance. If you spin a wheel and press the brake pedal it does stop but again brake pedal does not get hard. I'm really at a loss and any suggestions would be welcomed!
