well, got the truck running yesterday. jacked it around over to the door on its way down to the barn down front . pop was driving ,put it in first gear and nothing ..push the clutch in,feels like there is clutch ,put it in gear ,,nothing . it has a huge PTO .Could that have anything to do with it .It is not engaged ..maybe the flywheel is stuck ? where should we start ?

Sounds like you might be hung in PTO drive or neutral position? Have pop tinker with the levers while you crawl underneath and see what's going on. Maybe linkage needs adjustment, just be careful, might wanna get the old truck up on jackstands if you don't feel comfortable.

PTO has nothing to do with Main shaft out put. PTO runs off the counter shaft. Put in
in gear and see if the driveshaft is going around if so and if it has 2 speed axle then
the axle is not fully in high or low (vacuuam actuated) I have run into that before.
Clutch way out of adjustment free pedal play around a inch. I have seen clutch disk
rivits sheared off. I would jack up the rear end & see if you have a broken axle
there are several what if's - did it ever move since you had it ????

when truck is running and in gear with clutch out do you hear any noise? try to put the truck in gear with out using the clutch--just sort of move the stick around. Did you have the top cover off the trans? is it the correct gear stick? my 41 1 1/2 ton makes all sorts of noise when it is running and not in gear with the clutch out.
