1941 Special Sedan

It does have the floater bearings, the block is at the shop getting checked out now and if it is good the crank is next, although it would be cheaper to find a good 8BA crank/rods and swap those in.

Looks like your moving in the right direction to my way of thinking. Is this the engine you can turn into a Mercury by removing the liners? If so that might be the way to go. I would definetly run the hot air heater if its not broken or cracked. I had one in my 38 Zephyr and the work bettere then any hot water heater ever dreamed of. Tim

We owned a '41 super deluxe fordor, complete, running that had been off the road for 12 yrs or so. We completely rebuilt it starting in '95. Found out it took twice as long as expected, needed twice the tools and cost twice as much as expected!

It has been a slow role as to be expected. The block came back from the shop without any cracks so they line honed it fixed a couple valve seats. Did Cam bearings and a couple thread repairs so it’s on the engine stand right now. I may be committing sacrilege, but more than likely it is going to get a 283 and built into an early 60’s Gasser field car.

Very much my opinion, so feel free to completely ignore it, but there are way more fake gassers out there these days than there are 41 Ford Specials in stock condition. Your car is interesting because it hasn't been cut up and messed with, why change that?

I have to agree with this.
