I'm confused, if you do not have plate #3597 how were you able to set the shaft end play when it was rebuilt?.....Matt in Alameda

I used the 3597 from the box I put in my car. I had enough parts except for 3597 to build another one. The new worm and sector are the difficult pieces to get. A nos shaft and worm go between $100 and $200. I have seen sectors going for $150. The box is worth $25. The bearings and seal and gaskets, well no charge.
