1931 Standard Roadster Floor Mat

I just purchased a new rubber floor mat for my 31 Std. Roadster. I don't have an old one to go by so I have few questions:
1. Should the mat be trimmed at the rear so it stops at the bottom of the seat riser?
2. Where should the sides of the mat be trimmed?
3. There are what looks like original studs attached on the firewall where the mat stops. Is it good to cut or punch holes in the mat to fit over these studs or will this just result in the mat tearing at these points?
Any advice is appreciated. Pictures are good as well.
I have looked in the judging guide but cannot find any clear info on these points
Thanks.

Here are answers based on what I did on my mat I bought for my 31 pickup.
1) Yes
2) By the seat riser up to the cowl kick panels, cut mat to fit at the body side rails where it steps up. At the cowl kick panels, trim mat to be against the kick panels.
3) my mat had holes pre punched in the mat, one didn't match the stud in the floor, so I cut a new hole.
Hope this make sense, especially #2.
Good luck

Thanks Herb, That's exactly the info I was looking for.
