This Model A is a very presentable car that is ready to be enjoyed as is for years and possibly more generations to come. It is in very original/unmodified condition. My wife's grandfather bought the Model A from a gentleman in Arizona in March of 2000 that he was friends with. Grandpa drove it regularly and the car proved to be very dependable. It has a clean title and is ready for new owners. I am not super familiar with Model A’s but I will do my best to describe it fairly.

The body of this car is extremely solid as to be expected of an Arizona car. The frame is basically spotless. Floors top and bottom also are completely solid and show no issues. There is a 9"x9" section on the passenger side of the floor that can be seen from underneath but not from the top (about right under the passenger seat) that looks like it might have been welded in. I am not sure if this is a repair. If it is, it was well done and is solid. Can just barely be seen in one of the underneath pictures. The rest of the floor looks completely original and is clean. Cabin area floor is solid. The floor top and bottom in the rumble seat area also is issue free. Door jams and rumble seat jams are good. Bottoms of the doors are very solid with just very minor surface rust showing in a few small spots that can be seen and look worse in the pictures. Seams, fenders, and etc... are all very solid. There do not seem to be any areas that need to be repaired. The body is impressively solid for its age and should stay just as presentable as it is for quite some time.

As you should be able to see in the pictures, the finish is presentable. I buffed, polished, and waxed the finish so it is about as good as it can look. The olive and gray/olive on the cabin/body overall looks very nice. It is reflective, glossy, and smooth. The finish looks to be a single stage paint. There are a few areas where there are some flaws such as scratches and an area on the hood about the size of a baseball that have been touched up. Some of the touch up paint does not match the greatest. There are a few limited areas, such as in some seams, where the paint has cracked. The main flat/broad areas look very good. It looks to be an older but professional repaint that should stay how it looks for many years to come. The paint overall is very presentable. From ten feet away it looks just about perfect. The black paint on the fenders is glossy and looks nice from ten feet away but has numerous flaws in it. It has many chips, scuffs, and some cracks. There is a dent on the passenger rear fender that looks like it was repaired the paint now cracking on it (about the size of a golf ball). The quality of the black paint can be seen in some of the closer up pictures. I want buyers to know exactly what they’re getting so by pointing out some of the flaws I may make the paint sound worse than it actually is. The overall finish is definitely nice enough for taking the car to shows.

The chrome is in very nice condition. Bumpers are straight. The glass is very good. Wheels look good as do the center caps. The weather stripping around the doors looks like it might be original and is somewhat frayed. Vinyl top on the roof is good. The rumble seat is in very good condition. The engine bay and firewall overall is clean. Looks like some horns were added. The chest on the back adds some nice storage space.

The interior is in presentable original condition. Dash panel looks great. The chrome gauge pod looks good and the gauges do work. Odometer shows 9,000 miles so it would be safe to assume it is more like 109,000 miles although the mechanicals and cosmetics do not seem to reflect that high of mileage. Ignition works and there are two keys. Steering wheel is good. Headlights and headlight switch work. Door panels, headliner, and seat cover are all in presentable condition. I believe the seat cover to be the original mole hair. There are just a few small spots of discoloration on the seat. Seat springs are good. There seems to be some minor rattling behind the seat when driving the car with two people in it that I have not tried to eliminate. The carpet looks to be original and shows some wear. Floors are solid and clean with no issues. The wood looks original and is in good condition. It has some metal plates over it that look like additions. There is some duct tape residue in a few spots on the floor. Looks like it might have been used to reduce air entering the cabin. There are a few wires that could be cleaned up on the steering column that look to be for the added horns and turn signals. Choke, retard, and throttle levers all work. No odd smells in the interior. Overall the interior is presentable.

This Model A runs and drives great and does not seem to need anything mechanically. My wife’s grandparents would take it out just about every weekend when her grandfather was still alive. They often would cruise up to 1-2 hours away. The car also went through many parades during their ownership (without over heating too). After my wife's grandfather passed, the Model A was driven a couple times a year. My father-in-law drove the car to my house a couple weeks ago which was about an hour drive with no issues. Part of the drive involved cruising at 50 mph and did so without issues. I had it around the block a few times to take the pictures and video and it drove great. If you are interested in this car then I am sure you understand how different a Model A drives from modern machinery.

The engine is the original 4 cyl with single carburetor. With the right settings, the engine starts right up (have to pull the choke out, throttle level about half way, and retard all the way down; push choke back in once started). The engine runs great, sounds great, idles, and goes through the rpm range just fine. It propels the car as it should and does not make any odd noises. There are no issues with the exhaust. The clutch works as it should. The transmission works as it should with no issues. It goes through the gears just fine and does not grind if shifted properly. Transmission is the original three speed unit with all the gears in functioning order including reverse. There are no odd noises from the differential. As to be expected, there is some oil on the lower areas of some of the mechanical units but it did not leave any drips on my garage floor even after driving it. The timing gears were replaced about two years ago. The brakes work as they should with no issues or odd noises. Parking brake works. The steering feels as it should. The suspension also feel as it should. Tires have plenty of tread and tubes hold air. Spare tire is good. Again, the car runs and drives as it should, retains its original mechanicals, and should not need anything other than regular maintenance for quite some time. View the brief video of it driving.

I have tried to represent this Model A fairly. It is overall a very clean, solid, original, presentable, and well driving machine. Please view all the pictures and videos. Contact me if you are interested. Serious inquiries only please. Having done some research as to what else is out there for Model A’s, I have tried to price this example fairly at $10,800 or best offer.

It appears to be a nice car looking at pictures, I must say to start you must retard spark move lever up not down otherwise will cause damage leaving it down.
I would seem the car needs further attention to many areas to make it presentable for show .
my email is josh1331@verizon.net if you wish to contact me .

Josh, thanks for the tip on the spark retard. Next time I start it I will try it the way you suggested. I am not super familiar with these cars. Prior to this, the oldest car I had driven was my '69 TR6!

The car overall is presentable and I would say the way it sits is presentable enough to take to shows. But yea, it would need some attention to bring it up to the next level to be best of its class.

Sent ya an email.

Note: The pictures can be clicked to be enlarged which will open them in a new window and they can then be clicked again to be enlarged even further. The resolution is like 1600x1200.

Question: For the interior fabric I put "mole hair", is it actually called "mohair"?

After speaking with some members about the value of the car I have revised the price to $10,800 or best offer.

Some other things of note:
-It is a late '31 and has such features as the roll down rear window, "teardrop" firewall with fuel shut off, & etc.
-It retains the lever shocks
-Retains the original radiator cover
