I have what I thought was a 1914 engine but is in fact a 1919. It was included in a load of stuff I purchased from a 90 year old gent who sold his farm. I was told the engine was rebuilt and set in a Quonset and covered with a tarp without a head on it. It was seized when I got it from moisture. I put MMO, diesel and solvent in a mix and covered the pistons about an inch deep for a week. It now turns freely with the hand crank. Most or the rust on the cylinders washed off with acetone. Hatch marks are still there and pistons look new. I have one sticky valve which I would like to pull and clean. Also the pistons have an arrow on the top facing rearward. Should the arrow not face forward?? Is this going to be a problem?? Also how do I pull the valves? Anything else I should do or check while the engine is on the bench. It looks like the rebuild was done at home rather than a machine shop. I know how to build flatheads but this is my first T. Thanks Bill
