A carb once above its lowest range meters X amount of gas into Y amount of fuel. Until you reach an engine too small to energise the venturis or big and fast enough to pull serious vacuum at full throttle it will continue to do what it is supposed to pretty well. Jets are matched to venturi size and sensitivity.
