    Electric fuel pump

My 1950 Custom with a 239 ci. is needing a fuel pump. I want to install an electric. Can anyone tell me how much pressure and do I run it directly to the carbs or to the non-working mechanical pump? Is there a reliable brand to look for? If the pressure is too high, I will have to put on a...

    shifts hard

Thanks to all of you for your replies. I'll start removing all the small parts tomorrow and clean and lubricate them before reassembly. I would start today but it's that time of year for my first grass mowing. Again, thanks .

    gear ratio

Thanks, friends. I'm sure this will not work in my '50. I just wondered what car had a gearing that high. I would have to get a push to take off even if it did fit. But I will tell the owner of the rear end that it is for a much later 8" Ford. I appreciate all your responses.

    gear ratio

An acquaintance is trying to give me a differential for my 1950 Ford. It has 15 teeth on the pinion and 42 on the ring gear. By my calculations that is a 2.80 ratio. Obviously I can't use it but I have never heard of that ratio. What the heck is it?
