    HC Heads

I’ve recently come across a number of old cast iron heads, some of which seem to be in pretty good shape. All are cast with the information below on top of the head - if pictures of both top and bottom help, I have them. I’m hoping to get a bit more knowledgeable on what this fellow has: 1)Harry...

    New Stipe Camshafts

Bill, so wonderful to hear that things are moving in a positive direction for you and your son! Take your time and do it right, like you always have. We, your fan base, appreciate it more than you would ever know!!! I have a question regarding specs as I misplaced the cam data for the “touring...

    Handbrake Schematic

Another question for you all. I’m told that the felt anti-rattle piece is a good thing to include when rebuilding. Bratton’s and Mac’s carries it, but no one else seems to. Pictured is the one from Bratton’s/Macs. Anyone think the anti rattle felts used for the idle/advance rods might work? CW...

    Handbrake Schematic

Good to hear. I was born and raised in North Seattle area so I know the terrain. Relatives lived in Port Gamble so we frequented the Edmonds-Kingston Ferry many a time. I'm hoping to drive my Model A up the 101 in early June from Orange County, CA to Silverdale, WA. It will be one of my more...

    Handbrake Schematic

Thanks much to both Joe K and Gary WA -- both help in giving me guidance. Gary, how is the weather up your way. My parents live in Silverdale and my sister in Suquamish. Used to have friends that lived in both Mukilteo and Clinton.

    Handbrake Schematic

And yes, just the handle. I purchased a nicely done butler finish handbrake, so I'm transferring/inspecting the guts of my old handbrake into the new.

    Handbrake Schematic

Sorry, I should have stated such. I'm looking for the transmission side pushbutton.

    Handbrake Schematic

I've been searching through past posts on handbrakes and have not seen too much in the way of schematics of the insides of a handbrake. I'm getting ready to take the innards out of my old handbrake and installing in a new one. If anyone has any diagrams it would be most appreciated.

    Rear panhard assembly

I was just looking at Snyder’s front and rear Panhard bars and wondering if they are worthwhile to have. My car drives find under normal conditions, but would these help handling if you were caught in - say, windy conditions unexpectedly? I’m looking towards the MAFCA get together in New Mexico...

Searching for the book: “Restoring the Model A and B Carburetor - the ‘Rex’ Reheis Way” by Gordon Biggar

    Spindle /king pin spacer.

Yup! This diagram came from MAFCA and answered my question. It’s the only schematic I have found with this kind of detail.

    Spindle /king pin spacer.

Answer: felt washer on the bottom, cup washer on top of the felt.

    King pin

Quick question - should the cup be facing up with felt against the axle, or upside down with felt against the lower king pin bushing?

    Spindle /king pin spacer.

I have a question pertaining to this, but can't find a clear answer anywhere. Should the felt washer cup be facing with the felt against the axle, or facing down, with the felt against the king pin bushing. Its clear that the shims go under the thrust bearing, but not sure about this felt...

    Winfield Head

Is the gap the same? Recommended Spark plug for the 14mm and gap?

    Winfield Head

I've looked closer and can see the faint inscription of a 6 in the serial number area, so I'm sure its a yellow head. Spark plug holes are 18mm with 14mm adapters so I assume this is an early yellow head?

    Winfield Head

Thanks for the input. I'm sure I'll be happy with it as well. I'll be using a Stipe touring cam with it on a B diamond block with Stipe oil pump so hopefully she'll be good on the open road

    Winfield Head

No other stampings, and unfortunately I can't make out any serial number on the pad below the PAT PEND stamping, but it really does sound like it is 6:1 or maybe slightly higher depending on what someone might have done to the surface. Looking forward to see how she performs.

    Winfield Head

I recently purchased a rebuilt engine and it came with a Winfield 7:1 head and was hoping someone could help me identify if this is an original or a remake. Note the 1-12 above the Winfield name and the "PAT PEND" below the name. I'll be driving this on a B Diamond block with a Stipe 305...
