Just want to know on a ford-o-matic/merc-o-matic torque converter. Is there a one way reassembly of the plate and cover? Or are both pieces balanced separate and neutral. I planned on marking the converter before opening it to replace o-ring seals but like an idiot I didn’t.

Where can I get a gasket/seal kit from. Or who is the guru of these transmissions and knows the part numbers and where to get parts. Need a seal kit and converter o ring for my mercomatic

Hoping this was the culprit after giving it a little more turn. Wondering it the T was hair line cracked before tightening more. We’ll see soon.

V8 Bob. Having the wheel cylinders lower than the master cylinder should not be an issue. Look at for example my 54 Merc. Mac Mc is higher than all wheel cylinders ! Lines on rears are not hanging any lower to catch anything. And this is common practice and have seen many have the wheel...

Will do. Worth a try. Only other thing I can think of is I used sealant on the threads for front brake hoses to wheel cylinders. Will be getting and putting copper washer there today. But I have yet to see any leaks.

Glenn, yes you are right but from what I read and someone who does many brake setups I went that route. Also. The MC is basically in the middle of these little cars to begin with. Right front and right rear are likey to be almost same length. The system is all new. Ditched the mech brakes...
