A car that was originally a V8-60 came with a 4.44:1 ratio. I believe your car was a V8-60, but Al Lobsinger probably changed the rear when he restored it.
Ah, thanks. I have a fond memory sitting in Ed’s living room enjoying conversation over an ice cold lemonade as I waited for my generator to be built. That was in ‘06.
I would try the Bosch/VW 6 volt “blue” coil. Also if you have access to a Sun distributor machine to bench test your distributor. Are the points contacts clean, not oxidized?
Is this Ed’s son? I visited Ed and his wife at their home back in 06. DanKrebiel gave me the generator core and Ed built my alternator in the generator for my ‘32. He had a nice 32 Deluxe Coupe.
Planning to convert a 1930 coupe from rumble to trunk, so looking for the inner trunk panel with latch, original preferred. May have original rumble parts available. Thanks!
Push the timing pin against the gear, if the noise changes or quiets down the gear may be loose, either a loose nut or the gear separating from the hub.
