    cast headers

I wanted to follow up on this thread that I maybe kind of hijacked toward the end. I tried flipping the manifold before I made the adapters. And it was already sitting on the steering box. Another 1/4” of adapter and they just wouldn’t fit at all. I ended up with a pair of Hedman Huslers. They...

    cast headers

I’m not sure why I hadn’t thought about doing that. This adapter that you’re talking about, this would adapt the exhaust port flanges? I’m picture pieces of metal about 1/4” thick with 4 bolt holes and a large hole through the middle. Is that about right?

    cast headers

You had me excited for a second. I knew I couldn’t get by that cheap. I kind of figured the center dumps wouldn’t work either. But I was hopeful. I don’t think shoebox central sells those police manifolds anymore. And I can’t find anybody to else who does. Know if another place that has them...

    cast headers

So those cheap center dump headers I see on eBay will clear the steering box? I’ve been afraid to try them I thought it was too good to be true. Too cheap to work… My car is a 50 coupe? You think I’m safe to go for it? They aren’t $89.95 anymore, More Like $160. bidenflation hurting these eBay...

    Shoebox parking brake.

See images. Hopefully someone can help. Is my parking brake lever installed correctly. This is the passenger side pictured. The lever is to the rear of the car and the cable is entering from the front. My issue is it just seems as though when I pull the parking brake handle it would pull this...

    1950 Coupe Mystery pieces

That’s funny. They must be from a maverick rearend I pulled at a scrapyard. That’s what I get for hoarding parts. Spent a good amount of time going through images, looking through manuals..etc. and they don’t even go here. Thanks guys!

    1950 Coupe Mystery pieces

I took these off this car...I think. I can’t figure out where they go. Anybody know? See pictures. The first picture at the mystery pieces. The second is where I thought the pieces went but it doesn’t seem like they go here anywhere PS...haven’t been around here much. I’m in the Army and...

And it lists the same part number that I ordered. And the same part number that is on the box in which it came.

    Shoebox Brake Drum replacement

Called Dennis Carpenter today. The guy didn't know what the heck I was talking about. I emailed them the pictures...still waiting for a response. I double checked my receipt and I definitely ordered the right thing.

    Shoebox Brake Drum replacement

This is out of the catalog. This is what I ordered, and this is what is pictured in the catalog. I'm going to call Dennis Carpenter tomorrow.

    Shoebox Brake Drum replacement

I bought new drums from Dennis Carpenter. I received what was pictured in the catalog. But they don't fit. There is an extra lip on the new drum that interferes with a piece of the backing plate. My old drum didn't have this lip. It wouldn't be very hard to cut this piece off of the backing...

    1950 Rearend Disassembly

Thanks, everyone. I do have the green shop manual but I couldn’t really make sense of this part and the diagram didn’t give me confidence. If nothing else could be holding it up then I’ll get it out now.

    1950 Rearend Disassembly

Yes. Axles were completely out. But the thingy still won’t come all the way off. Gets hung up around 1/2” off the surface of the housing.

    1950 Rearend Disassembly

Slowly getting back to work so the progress on the project is slowing down. This whole COVID thing made me realize how much work gets in the way of me doing things I want to do. Anyway, I tried taking apart the rearend. I removed the 10 nuts from around the differential thingy. I don't know if...

    Mystery part

And maybe the speedo being tilted is creating an illusion, making other parts seem to be more or less sloped. I’m going to try and clean it up and straighten the Speedo and take a better more straight on photo.

    Mystery part

Wow. really? I was not expecting that. My family has had this car since the late 60s. I'm sure one of my uncles put that there. But none of my family members have had a 30s anything as far as I know.

    1959 Coupe Header question

I know. just exploring my options. For $100 or so maybe worth it. But I'm not going to pay $300 for it.
