Mine measures about 68" wide, 71" tall and 14'-8" long. I think you are in good shape.

    1936 Pickup bed floor question

Back to the bumps. My 34 has them to allow for the protruding bumps in the sides of the truck bed which allow space for the shocks to function.

    34 door help

I just finished the doors on my 34 pickup. I replaced the skin from just below the ribs down. The ribs held the shape well so I could butt weld the new piece in. No warp at all.

    Flathead running cold

Captain obvious here. You do have the stat right side up (or in)? Also it is possible that a new stat can be defective. I'd try another.

    Anti freeze

My mother (born 1918) told me that her father, who was an auto dealer in Hartford, CT in the 20's used to run water year round but would drain it in the evening in cold weather and replace it with alcohol for the night then reverse the process in the morning before using the car.

    why wire wheels?

I woke up this morning thinking about the wheels on my 34 Ford pickup. Why did they use wire wheels on the early vehicles, as opposed to the stamped steel wheels which followed. Was it just aesthetics? History? Evolution of manufacturing process? Does anyone out there know?

    34 pickup spare tire holder

Does anyone have a picture of what the spare tire attachment looks like. I have the rod and the brace in place, but there has to be another piece that attaches the rod to the wheel. Some sort of backing plate since the rod comes exactly in the center of the large wheel opening. Thanks, Ed

    34 pickup oil pressure guage

Thank you, Marko39. No plug in the pan, but I have it off, right now so I will add one. Then I'll find a filter. Does the addition of a filter affect the oil pressure reading, since they both come from the same port?

34 pickup, finally back together but....

Took down the oil pan and found the 4 plugs in the bottom of the engine casting along the oil pan mating surface. One was definitely leaking..took about 2 minutes to see a drip forming from the center of the plug. Removed all of them. They were very rusted and thin. Ordered new ones from...

    34 pickup oil pressure guage

Marko, your answer gives rise to another question, if I may. There is no oil filter on the engine. What does one use and how do you attach it, if I want to add one?

    34 pickup oil pressure guage

I want to install an oil pressure guage. Where on the engine is a good place to attach it? I see some fittings that look right on the left (driver side) rear of the block just below and to the rear of the head. Is that oil? Thanks,

34 pickup, finally back together but....

Wow!! You guys are great! It seems to me that the likely culprit is the soft plug. It fits the observations very well. Right at the bulge in the block. I'll drop the pan again and check it out. BTW, B&S, this is an early v8. Orig to the 34. Fingers crossed. I'll let you know what I find...

34 pickup, finally back together but....

I have been working on getting the 34 back on the road for about 2-1/2 years, now. Finally have most all of the body work done and a first coat of paint. Started it (factory rebuilt tag on engine) for the first time in almost 50 years and it runs great!! However, I notice a small coolant leak...

    34 pickup steering column mount

Decided to hold off for a little while. The son of the guy I bought the truck from just found a complete steering column in a storage container at his dad's place.(Dad died shortly after I bought the truck). The column he found has the lock/switch mechanism complete with key. I currently...
