    1955 Fairlane door moulding

AI is wrong... for all Fairlane models that front door trim is made of TWO pieces. I do not believe any reproduction outfits carry that stainless trim for the door, best to look at swap meets or to get on one of the Facebook groups and post you are looking for a set. The Crown Victoria...

What is the proper gear lube for a BW overdrive?

Tractor Supply still carries that mineral oil in 90W for tractor transmissions - I have used it in my BW259 R10 Overdrive in my 1955 for about a decade now.

    what is this part?

That is not a 1955 Ford part - it appears to be a bracket that holds a portion, or maybe the center, of where a grill would go. It would span between the gravel pan and the hood latch panel from what it looks like.

    1955 Ford/Mercury 2dr Hardtop carpet suggestions?

"No amount of sun is going to cure bad stitching." I am going to borrow that quote. I used ACC for my 1955 Ford Club Sedan and discovered the same thing. The carpet itself is of a good quality but the fitment was downright horrible. I have quite a few pictures on my blog at HotRodReverend.com.

    Heater hoses on '56 Fairlane

There were two options for coolant control feeding the heater core. The most often supplied valve was one that was vacuum controlled and was attached to the intake manifold. A long vacuum tube went back through the firewall to the heater controls. The "nicer" valve was the one you are...

    Painting an Engine

I have painted many engines and never had any trouble with peeling. Never use a torch - whatever it burns does not magically fall off the engine. I do not know why guys believe that. There would still be mechanical removal needed by a brush, etc. I have always used lacquer thinner and/or...
