    Sparking at starter switch

If it is a reproduction switch, that is the problem. The case of a replacement switch is more rounded at the top, and can short out.

    1930 Roadster Snaps on Windshield

Do the snaps that attach the top of the windshield to the convertible top go on the front, or back side, of the windshield frame?

    Roadster Open Car Windshield Gasket

I have a 1930 Standard Roadster and purchased the Open Car Windshield Gasket for that vehicle. Can anyone show me where it goes and how it gets attached? Contact cement? Should the windshield swing in so the windshield can be laid down flat? Mine hits the metal dash below the windshield...

    Installing the Rumble Seat Lid

Thank you Randy for your additional information. I just checked, and they did leave out the last screw. Also, when they rebuilt that floor panel, they did square up that corner. Fortunately, they will fix any problems when the roadster is back together. This vehicle was in pretty rough shape...

    Installing the Rumble Seat Lid

Hello Steve! OK! I found the stops that you mentioned, and now know where the pieces that I have go. It becomes more difficult when holes get filled in with body filler. Thanks all of you for your help! Ben

    Installing the Rumble Seat Lid

I am still trying to figure out the rumble lid stops. Does any one have a photo of where they go. I may be missing some pieces. It looks like they should bolt to a curved survace, and the only curved survace is on the lid. It placed there, I do not see any area for them to come up against to...

    Installing the Rumble Seat Lid

I am trying to install the rumble seat lid on a 1930 Standard Roadster. I did not take this apart so I do not know where these pieces go, or how they are put together. I am assuming that the square nut is the correct nut to go on the hinge bolt. I do not know where the square washers go in...

    Jerky Runner

I had a similar problem on one of mine (was not running smoothly), but was not backfiring. I tried a number of things, and what finely worked for me was to reset the valve clearance on all the valves.

    1930 Standard Roadster

Thank you for letting me know. It is hard to do some things here in Mexico when there are not other cars, or knowledgeable Model A enthusiasts around.

    1930 Standard Roadster

At each upper corner of the opening for the rumble seat, near the rubber bumpers, are small plates approximately 1" x 2". These plates are attached by a counter sunk bolt and appear to be made from aluminum. Are these original, or something that was added later?

    Installing rear bumpers

I am installing new rear bumpers on my 1930 Model A Standard Roadster. I notice that the curve of the bumper is not symmetrical. When looking down on top of the bumper bars, one end has a sharper curve than the other end. Does the sharper curved end go towards the center of the vehicle, or...

    Roadster Tack Strip?

Brent, would an additional piece of heavy sheet metal tack welded to the top of the tack strip negatively affect anything. If not then new countersink holes could be drilled in the additional sheet metal to hold the screw heads. Is there a better solution?

    Roadster Tack Strip?

What is this piece called on a 1930 Standard Roadster? (The rusty channel on top of the belt rail) It appears to have wood inside of it. How did Ford get wood in there? How to I get wood in there? Maybe use material from a plastic cutting board as suggested for the top bows? Do any of the...
