Modified A will not run at higher RPM

Re: Modified A will not Calihute Point bounce? Back in the 70's I got an optical kit for my Mustang V6 just to eliminate having to adjust the points. Should be one for a 4 cyl if they're still made.

    Cutout Not Cutting Out?

Do not disconnect the generator from the battery and load or the generator will quickly destroy itself. Use a jumper across it like Bob's second method.

    Cutout Not Cutting Out?

Add to Bob's fix, if you insulate the contacts you must also ground the generator output. Gen will burn up if run with no load. Grounding the output keeps it from developing damaging voltage.

    LED Tail light options

Get the red bulb, it shines red through the amber lens which is more recognizable to other drivers.

    Mystery electrical short

Check the brake switch. Can short to the housing.

    Quiz Question

Piston compresses gas. Payload weight increases tire pressure.

    Head and Tail light bulbs

Use 21 CP from the vendors. Ford offered 32 CP for highway driving, but 50 CP draws too much power for the generator to support.

    LEDs for parking lamps

Correct, I forgot there are 2 types, 1 filament between contacts an 2 between contacts and shell. 62417 is the one you need. Snyder's A-13464 (2 ea.) can be connected between each tail lamp and ground so the thermal flasher works. Electronic flashers are susceptible to ignition noise, causing...

    LEDs for parking lamps

ledlight.com 64218 should work, but you may need to add a ballast resistor like DF says.

    Cell phone charging

Assuming standard positive ground system, attach red (positive) to ground and black (negative) to battery. 3 amps is for 12V supply, may need to use 5 amp fuse for six volts. I haven't seen Paul's video, but I assume also your mount isolates the socket housing from vehicle ground, otherwise it...

    Favorite LED Headlight’s?

Re: Favorite LED Headlight’s? Only complaint I've seen is their weight. Bumpy roads distort the socket and they lose contact. Original socket mounting might be strengthened somehow.

    6 volt battery type??

AGM batteries are the same as flooded lead acid except the electrolyte is contained in Absorbent Glass Mat (AGM). Still need venting, usually through a tube to the outside in modern cars. They are also spill proof, so can be shipped as nonhazard material. Charge as usual.

    What model Battery Tender?

I leave on 24/7. I trust the manufacturer to incorporate over temperature shutdown. I would think that would be a requirement, but who knows?

Mitch and Rylan's pissing match is stupid. Mom and Dad should kiss and make up for the benefit of us kids.

    What model Battery Tender?

I use the same one as Shew01. Cheap, works. Randy's comment makes a good point. Keep it on 24/7, no problem

    Sockets in Headlightbucket

Other differences - bulb harness inside bucket has only 2 wires, connecting plug to conduit has 2 holes vs. 3, connectors are not crimped, conduit and cowl grommets are smaller, 1/2" vs. 9/16", column switch is soldered, not tabbed. Just remove the 3rd wire, as Joe says, and deal with the...

Odd Question about Teacup Tail Lights

Use a high intensity RED led bulb for the brakes. Will shine bright red through either, and more understandable by the dummies following you. Unless the color difference bothers you when looking at it. (I just look the other way.)

    losing my mind, generator

Could be cutout has gone bad. Unlikely the diode itself, but its connections to the outside. Can measure good with an ohmmeter but opens up with higher current. Open cutout can destroy the generator rather quickly. Bridge across the cutout to check.

    Generator Question

5 amps must be discharge. 3-4 volts will keep the cutout open. Bad generator.
