    39 Deluxe Glove Box Lock?

Yes. Lock cylinders come up on ebay from time to time. Also, I'm sure someone on this form will have one for sale. The cylinder can be rekeyed to match the trunk lock by any locksmith.

1939 Column - Top Bushing Replace

There is enough bending flexibility in the long horn rod to carefully bow it and remove it. Never thought of it, but bowing it out the drivers open door might even be easier.

1939 Column - Top Bushing Replace

Peter, the bearing assembly is the best solution (about $60). Straight forward job, but time consuming. I have the steering wheel puller for the pre 1940 wheels and the horn rod can be removed without removing any windows. I replaced the bushing with the bearing assembly at least 15 years ago...

    Village Green paint code

Doing some minor body and repaint work on my 45 1/2 ton pickup. The body color is Village Green, Ford code M3949. Also have the old DuPont, Ditzler, and PPG paint codes. The local paint shop I'm using tells me these old codes haven't been "reformulated" into a current code they can mix. Can...

    ignition key

I have a Hurd 1938-48 ignition lock in search of a key. I have the key blanks and the ignition key code but no one in my area has the old Ford key code books or can cut a key by code. There must be someone in the hobby that can still cut a key. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

    Airtex fuel pumps

Went to buy an Airtex 6 volt low pressure (2.5 to 4psi) fuel pump, model E8902 based on a lot of positive comments I've read on this forum. As part of the online (Ebay site) information on the pump I came across these statements in red "This pump can be used for either positive or negative...

    37-39 instrument question

The 39 gauge set you show is for a Deluxe car and is wired for a battery gauge not an ammeter. Only 39 Standards had ammeters. If all you need is a 39 temp gauge and you have a working 37 temp gauge why not just swap face plates, that's the only difference between the 37 and 39.

    36/5W oil filter

That oil filter was a dealer installed option through 1939. The entire canister was replaced with a new one when it came time to change the filter. Pretty rare item if complete with original hardware. Starting in 1940, Ford used the type of oil filter we are all most familar with.

Cant find gear lube gl-1. Dows gl-5 take its place?

Check with NAPA. I just bought a 5 gallon pail of GL-1-140. It is available. It's just that most parts dealers don't want to bother chasing it down because there is so little demand for non-synthetic straight 140 wt.

    Windshield wiper rebuild

Rebuilding a 1939 Trico wiper motor, part# SK-46. Actually a very simple rebuild- disassemble, clean throughly, check housing for warping, lubricate, and reassemble. The problem is the housing gasket. The gasket offered by Mac's and others are for "small" motors and don't fit the SK-46 and I...

Rubber gaskets for 35 not made right

As long as we're on this thread, how about the 1939 taupe floor mats that sell for between $135 and $150 and don't fit worth a damn. The mat opening for the floor shift is much to small (and the wrong shape) to fit over the shift tower. This requires major cutting and triming to fit properly...
