Thanks Patrick. I am leaning towards the jack stands on pads.

    Winter Storage

Due to room constraints, my Model A truck will be stored outside, covered by tarps. To preserve the tires, would it be best to put jack stands under the front and rear axles and keep the tires off the ground? Other option would be to put some type of cement pad under each of the tires. Currently...

    Rear spring

On the subject of springs, can anyone confirm the number of leaves (?) on the front spring for an AA with metal dump body. Current one has 14 leaves. As I also understand it, the shackles for this front spring are actually the ones used in the rear for the standard model A. Thanks, Kieran

    Bratton's Engine Stand Adapter

Has anybody used this with a Harbor Freight engine stand. There does not appear to be an easy way to adapt it. Only way I can figure is to exchange it for the one in the stand and then drill a bunch of holes in the steel tube so you can rotate it around. Am I missing something here? Thanks, Kieran

Pulling the engine in my AA Truck

Setting about to pull the engine in my truck. Everything in order. Looking closer at the transmission case, it looks like it had a partial repair of the outer case. I knew something had been done from looking below. It is a four speed with side mounted PTO for the dump bed. Although I was only...

    Newbie Guidance

Finally found a used engine puller and purchased an engine stand along with the plate to use with the Model A engine. Getting close to pulling the engine. Is there a way to support the transmission and still be able to close the cab doors. I am working outside and need to keep the rain out. Thanks!

    Newbie Guidance

Thanks again for all the great information, advice and encouragement! I have decided to go ahead and pull the engine. As you can see from one of the photos, the head is currently off and all the studs are out. In order to remove it safely, should I put all new studs back in, put the head back on...
