My dad used a piece of leather on rod bearing instead of babbit metal. It worked.

Get off that man's back he has the right to ask a question. I like it, I own 1 now but have owned as high as 6 at one time. Keep it up 700 rpm. There is alway one bad apple in the tree.

This is what to look for.

get a hold of A & L if you have the code they will make a dey for you they did for me and fit great.

check and make sure you have 6 volts go ignition switch and to the end of ignition switch cable.

you mit want to look at cleaning the inside of the engine block. Have a radiator shop check for tubes in radiator that mit be plugging to restreck the flow of colant. my 2 cents

I have a AA pickup and making drawing of the parts with pics. Tring to get part # for the parts as well. Its fun but very time consuming.

Check to see if your mileage guage is working, If so it is maybe the speedometer magntisam is week.
