1955 and 1956 Ford Pick Up Parking Light Question

They are different in some way. I have some of each, (I think). Looked to me like either one would fit my 56 so I used the best ones, but not sure whether I used "55" or "56". Sorry not much help....

54 pickup fuel line pic needed

I don't think I have a pic but I'll look. My truck uses a 53-55 tank. The pickup is on the inner side of the tank, comes out the top, then over the frame and back down and up to the fuel pump. I bought a repop tank thru NPD and bent my own fuel line to the rubber hose to the fuel pump. My...

    1956 Ford steering wheels?

I know 56 was the 1st year of a recessed wheel on trucks. 55 and older wheel was flat- 56 and up into 60's was recessed. Also 56 up column was shorter so wheel ended up in same spot.

    Columbus Ohio Fall Swap Meet

I went- it was OK. I guess it was about 1/2 of what it used to be. There was one full building and another building about 1/4th full. About 8 or 9 cars for sale. My buddy who has went there years ago said there used to be 4 full bldgs and a full car corral. I bought a few things for my truck...

    1985 F150 Vacuum Leak

I have a 85 300 6 in my 56 F100. 1985 had a weird emissions set up with a electronic mixture solenoid and a early style of computer controlled advance. I switched mine to a late 70's style vacuum advance dura spark dist. and a 73-75 Carter YF carb. Mine had that goofy spacer you can't find. I...

    F100 front spring bushing replacement

I used a piece of 1/2" threaded rod, 2 nuts, a washer and a big deep socket. That will work for the bushings that go in the spring itself. The 1/2" nut (3/4" hex) is too big to take the bushing out of the frame in the front. I didn't remove those. You will have to figure that out. I replaced the...

    Wiring Ideas

If it is a original replacement type, you can go on Mid Fifty's site and look at a pdf of the instructions of their replacement harness. If it is a aftermarket "custom" type harness I don't know how you could find out what is what. Good luck with it...

How to install 54 F-100 parking light wiring location

I'm not absolutely positive but I believe the wires go up thru the headlight bucket. That's the way the wires were on a 56 Wrecker I parted out and it looked like it was original. I don't have my 56 together yet but that is the way I plan to run my wires. I found a pic that shows where all of...

    How Ford Gauge Unit Work

This is a great thread, Thanks to all of you who contributed. You guys seem to be at the electrical engineer level. Way over my head but has explained alot. I have a f100 that is a hodge podge of a 55 and 56. It uses the 55 tank and the 56 speedo head/gauges ( long story) Anyway I will be...

    Front disc brakes not releasing

I had quite a puzzle installing a disc brake kit from CPP on my F100. I could barely get the pads in using a set of turned F150 rotors- way too tight. I was using GM calipers for a !985 Chevy pickup. I called CPP tech any found I needed the calipers from a Chevy pickup with HD Brakes! Now all is...
