    appraisels

I guess there is no real way to determine a value of these old vehicles. That looks more like a personel preference thing. The variables in play seem endless of course. Looks like a culmination of the 3 mentioned above should give me an idea as to insurance purposes at the least. The truck is...

    29 model AA gearing?

I must have 7:25 gears. Wow the truck is slow. Is finding and installing other gears a hard deal? On flat ground 3rd gear starts are easy. Really wish I had taller gears.

    29 model AA gearing?

Also I have 7.5x20 tires on it. Would that make it slow compared to the 6.00 it is suppose to have? Thanks

    29 model AA gearing?

Have no tag on my rear diff. Was wondering how to tell the gearing in the truck. Cruising speed is about 20 m.p.h on the speedo. Top speed is unknown as I do not want to push the original unrebuilt 4, But 35 m.p.h. might have me looking for a new crank! Any ideas what gears I have in it? Thanks

    Leaking carb.

After taking the winter off, i decided to check my timing gear marks. As when i changed the maserated gear the first time it was ruined so i guessed to where to line it up. Well, it was off by 4 teeth. I did not know about the mark on the smaller gear and the two having to be lined up. When i...

    Leaking carb.

Thanks for all the tips. It looks like i will have quite a few more things to check. Aftermarket items are certainly not original items. Alot can be said for " they do'nt make them like they used to." but i should be able to get it eventually.

    Leaking carb.

Have rebuilt the carb. All new internals. Fuel still leaks slowly out when engine is off. Am going to try a gross jet this time. Anyone else have this issue? Friend of mine said that many gravity feed carbs. Have this issue. No real fix? Thanks

    Timming & spitting gas out

Interesting findings. Compression goes, no.1 55 psi, no.2 47 psi, no.3 53 psi, no.4 55 psi. The plugs of no. 1 & 4 are black. The plugs on no. 2 & 3 look great, nice white insulator. I must have some gremlins in the ignition system. The carb. Needle and seat must have issues, it will drip fuel...

    Timming & spitting gas out

Rebuilt the carb. All new needle and seat. Old needle and seat did the same. Carb. Rebuild did not change anything. Raw gas spitting out the carb. Starts right up and will idle but running rough, backfiring a bit but not real bad or anything just rough. Am able to drive it, but cannot get her up...

    Timming & spitting gas out

MOTOR IS STILL SPITTING GAS OUT THE CARB. FILLING THE CAB WITH VAPORS AS IT BURNS OF THE EXHAUST. REBUILT THE CARB. AND RUNS THE SAME AS BEFORE. COULD THE TIMMING GEAR BE OFF ONE TOOTH AND STILL RUN?? I REPLACED IT BUT THE OLD GEAR WAS SO CRUMBLY THAT IT POSSIBLY MAY HAVE GOT TURNED 1 TOOTH...

    compression psi

Elrod has a good point, i did not go through the dist. Yet, but will order some goodies for it today. She will only let me get to 1/4 throttle before she dies out. Went through the carb. Twice, its fine. Did notice i lost all spark yesterday, cleaned the points and she took off again. Running...

    compression psi

What is a decent psi number to look for when testing a model a engine? I just brought out a 29 aa from a 45 year sleep and have gone through the basics of it, all seems well. Cleaned carb. Oil up the cylds. New wiring, timing gear, plugs, wires, dist., coil, cleaned fuel tank all new oils...

    timing gear change

The 550 ft. Lbs. Impact did it, the nut is fine also. Thanks for the info. The 29 aa should be fired up soon, first time in 45 years!

    timing gear change

No luck yet. Just grinding off the old maserated teeth using my breaker bar. Should i try my 1/2'' impact?? The bugger is really on there, i am very strong and am afraid of ruining something. Thanks
