Hi all. It's been a while since I've been on here, but thought I'd share this. I was watching a YouTube video by a hot rod channel I follow and they showed a clip of this car at Hershey last year. Note appears to be fordor, but it has the coupe pillar that no actual fordor had. Rare taxi?

That's a thought. I've got a bunch of floats, so I'll try that. Thanks!

It has 3/4 of a tank right now. It runs great down the road with good power, which you wouldn't expect if there was a fuel flow issue.

Typical driveway steepness of maybe 4-5% grade, so not that steep.

You'd think it wouldn't run well down the road if there was a fuel flow issue, but it runs great down the road with good power.

That would make sense, except the gas would slosh to the back of the bowl where the jets/passages are, right? Not starving the carb of fuel?

Hi all. I'm scratching my head a little with this one. I have a good Zenith 2 on my car that runs great down the road with good response and power. The idle get's a little odd under certain circumstances. It idles great when the car is on a flat surface or if the car is pointed downhill, but it...

I had similar problems with the chain coupler in my Borg Warner. My problem was that the connecting link in the chain had failed. I did some reading online about how to measure drive chains, measured it, and found the link I needed on Amazon, of all places. Here is a link to the amazon item I...

Not sure why nobody will just answer your question...anyway, the Zenith was the original equipment carb for the A. Both Tillotson and Marvel (sometimes known as Allstate) were aftermarket replacement carbs. Zenith carbs are sturdy and if properly rebuilt, perform great. Both the Tillotson and...

Thanks all. I should mention that it's a 10 year old alternator and an original ammeter that's been in the car for 50 years (since my dad and grandpa first restored the car). I really doubt that the ammeter is bad. This is a new problem. It could very well be the battery or something drawing on...

Thanks. I already checked the voltage at running RPM and it all seems fine. If there was a draw on the battery, it wouldn't start after weeks sitting, but it does. Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk

I tried unhooking lights and horn...no effect I'm afraid. Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk

I've heard about bad repops being unreliable. However, I think this is an original that's been on there since 1971 when my dad and grandpa restored the car. No problems with the gauge in those years. Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk

I'll check the grounds.. The battery seems fine, though. The car can sit for weeks and start right up. Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk

I've been told that I can be an..."agressive" Model A driver, so take that for what it is. Lol. I learned that these cars are tough and can handle a little aggressive driving. It's a Model A, they're not fast, but if you push them a little, they can handle most modern traffic. I run them up to...

Hi all. Drove my coupe accross town the other day, probably 50-60 miles total. Even after driving for a while at speed, the ammeter sat at a consistent 9-10 amps charge. It jumped up to 15- 20 amps after cold start, ammeter still sits at 0 when engine is off.. Tested the voltage at the...

WTB a float bowl for a Winfield Model S. I have the throttle assembly in B size and need the float bowl to go with it. Thanks.

The engine in my coupe is an A block that was modified to accept a B crank, so it has been done. Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk

I saw 70mph in my 29 fordor once and it was a little scary. I have an inserted engine with oversize intake valves, B cam, 5.9:1 Brumfield head, dual B carbs, and a Borg Warner overdrive. 55-60 on the highway feels ok. Those front fenders act like wings and create lift if you go too fast... Sent...
