Brent/ all, I agree 100% with the analogy of the 25 year difference, and I'll take the matter a step forward...I also have a car shop and I explain constantly to my customers that I prefer to remove/ replace with factory (OEM) parts rather than aftermarket. The shock hits the customers when...

I am shocked that you are shocked by all these responses. All great information as I had no idea the differences. Thanks all.

Was there a diffident answer regarding the filling of that water jacket hole? I read through the post and didn't see anything regarding why it is filled. Better cooling?

Hi Jerome, great project cars. As a fellow mechanic (aviation) and fellow car enthusiast, I would start out with deciding what YOU want to do. If you want to fully restore these two cars, great. FIRST, buy these books (you'll find them very informative, and you'll begin to think 'these were...

Hello all, I noticed the shocks on my 1941 Ford Car has similar shocks as my 1931 Model A. Are they the same? Rated differently? What are the differences if any?

Hello, Looking for a complete Drivers door with hinges for the 1930-31 Model A Pick up. Thanks, Paul

Came across this from a different thread https://web.archive.org/web/20140906014826/http://www.abarnyard.com/index.shtml It is still up but has been archived.

Sounds like a Bell 47? Must have been a very bumpy lateral until all the moisture dissipated and allowed the rotor blades to track properly... Performed many T/B on Bell's over the years.

All great advice, and I realize now how much work and effort there is in punching a "D" hole... Here's my thought, to cut out the original "D" nuts from the damaged section and weld them into the cross pieces. Thoughts?

Hello all, Making progress on the 1931 Pickup I recently purchased. I have the cab off the frame and replacing the floor channels/ cross brases when I discovered there are D Nuts for the wooden floor board and rivets. I want to find a D Nut Hole Punch tool, but I need to know what exactly...

I believe it is a genuine sale. The seller I purchased the truck came from Illinois. He gave me several new parts that still had the seller he purchased the truck from. The story I was told was the previous seller was performing a restoration and passed away, thus the widow sold the truck to...

Bob C, I have the characteristics of the '30- '31 model A, but there is just certain things that point to an early '30 model A. The thing is, the truck was titled with the state as a 1931.

I would have to agree, because I have an early '28-'29 speedo and needed the dash panel. Sammie Gutherie at Arizona Model A's told me I had a '28-'29 Fuel Tank. I do believe that there would be a seventh digit, but with time and corrosion, has faded.

Hello all, As I proceed with this 1931 (Titled as a 1931, anyways) Pickup Truck, I have noticed my engine serial number is «A2746912« which dates the engine as made January 1930. On the frame however, my serial number is «A260304(?). I am not sure if it is 6 digits long or 7. Taking into...

I guess after looking closer I think I have a Model TT Long Bed, not a Model AA bed. I am really not quite sure what I have. I just know its long and looks like a Model AA or TT...

Is there a link to the Russ Evans alternator or some way to be able to contact them for purchasing these?

Ive seen quite a few listing on FB marketplace and actually bought one of the guys listings: Paid with the normal "Goods and Services" option, NEVER THE 'Friends and Family" option, as this seller requested. I am currently in dispute with PayPal to get my money back after showing the seller to...

Performed quite a bit of T&B with the Chadwick and also static balance with the Marvel. 27 yrs aviation has taught me to do things right the first time and not have to spend time fixing sloppy work...

Hello all, I am looking for the outer portion of the Drivers Side Middle Door Hinge. The Hinge part that mounts to the Drivers Door for my 1931 Model A Truck. The other half of the hinge I have and is attached to the body, only the door side is missing. I believe that the previous...
