mine whines on third!! I'll fix one of these years (still works OK!)

like many others, I will polish, finish, fix, repair or even upgrade if needed but will not change it! (keep the history of the car as found) and be the next "custodian"

Just came from target and guess what! did not find them, the store clerk look at me kinda funny (I swear he'll call security) not a good day!!!

I will keep it original and very clean!!

My 28 does not have turning lights, so it was good to see the use of arm-hand signaling before turning in the video; but the driver behind me does not understand them when I do it !!! :rolleyes:

I guess, ain't getting the accessory.. for a moment I did believe that I was ruining my timing gear!!! Thanks for the input..guys, I certainly appreciate your comments, I learn from them and from the other threads.. I am having fun getting with my car in full working order

I found an accessory for the model A called "timing gear oiler", my A-28 does not have it... so the question is: in the procedure to prepare the engine to operate do I need to hand lubricate this gear? :eek: Any reference to this accessory or procedure for the timing gear lubrication will be...

I even double clutch not only on my A-28 but also in my 72 VW bug

I will say that if you get an alternator with a given polarity, one will not be able to change polarity due to the solid state hardware that comes inside it.. (...course I may be wrong..)

quick test: set engine rpm above normal idle, disconnect one terminal of the battery, if car continues to run then gen is OK...

Finally my car is positive to ground (I had to do it :) ) FINDINGS: Tom W: I used the wrong name it is a cutout!!! Purdy: you are right, high voltage generates when generator is not grounded my case 15 to 18 volts in a few seconds and ... MAG the amp-meter reads backwards... anyhow I used...

do you have any pics of the broken parts... could be the clutch itself

The amateurs took a Vintage Harley from a garage that did'nt even had windows, my friend (the looser) did not have locks in the tracts!! what a loss! he has been crying for a few years now ...

and... yes the horn worked with either polarity (I tried)...txs
