    Fuel gauge float question

I had the same experience Don describes with the aluminum tool. My local store only had the aluminum one so I bought it. I spent about 30 minutes grinding and filing it. It then worked great. Multiple people said to use the cork gaskets. My kit came with the neoprene ones. Is the issue...

    Fuel gauge float question

Once you have the right tools and make sure the tank is low, it is a piece of cake to replace. The Les Andrews book has great pictures.

    Cool Old Gas Station

In West Allis, Wisconsin, (a suburb of Milwaukee) there is historical landmark pagoda style gas station that closed a number of years ago. Thankfully, they did not tear it down. It is now preserved as a little mini-park in the same location. I thought you might enjoy a few pictures I took of the...

    Thank You Ford Barners

In light of the recent unfortunate passing of two of the regular and very knowlegeable Ford Barners, I would like to say thank you to everyone that helps each other out on this site. This is a great group of folks that have taught me, and many others I am sure, a ton of stuff about this hobby...

    Gas Tank Strainer

I find it difficult to fill up the truck with the strainer in the gas tank filler neck. It causes the gas to splash back or shut off the pump. Is this strainer really necessary if I always fill up at a service station? I also have the screen and glass bowl correctly installed, so I am not...

First car show since paint job - Not bad

Actually the color is gunmetal blue. Rock moss green is more of a green color while this one has some gray and blue in it although it is still primarily green. Thanks everyone and have a great weekend.

First car show since paint job - Not bad

I entered the pickup in a local Lion's Club car show over the weekend. There were about 250 cars and trucks. For some reason, all the trucks were in 1 class, no matter how old or whether they were modified or not. A bit strange, but oh well. It was a beautiful day and almost every vehicle was...

    Bumper Question

At least in the milwaukee area, replating was roughly twice the cost of the bumpers from Little Dearborn. I bought them and am very happy with them.

    Waterpump question

I just tightned mine by holding the fan. It got snug enough that it will not move and the cotter pin will keep it from getting loose.

    Running board removal ?

When I removed my running boards, the area you talk about is a pair of "J" shapes that interlock. You just remove all the bolts and lift the running board up and it will come out. Very simple.

    Shock Link Installation Help

Having just installed a set of original shocks, I found one of the tubular links to be manufactured so bad that it was impossibe to install. I had to grind down the spacer about 1/8" to get everythign to line up. The lower seat was not able to sit down far enough in the tube.

    paint codes for engine green

Having just painted my truck gunmetal blue, I would say it is pretty close to the engine color, closer than rock moss green which would be too green. PPG will have a code for this color. For what its worth, the right engine paint from Macs is only about $13 for a pint, which will do the...

28/29 cc pickup top wood info needed

There is a second piece of wood that gets screwed to the bottom of the side rail. It holds the wind lace in and gives the top rubber bumper a surface to hit against. It is a simple piece 1/2" x 3/4".
