1931 Ford Tudor quit running suddenly-no juice

I just had the oil changed and oil pan gasket and timing gear replaced on my 31 Tudor. The battery went dead while there at shop so I charged it to 100% and went for a drive. After 15 minutes suddenly the car stopped running, no lights, no horn. I rolled to a parking space and walked home. Does...

    31 Tudor Starter Quit Working

Ok, I got the new switch and it does seem very simple-I haven't installed it yet, I am going to check and clean all connections including those in the old starter switch today, but I see that there is something that looks to me like a fuse marked 12V 30A. I unclipped it but I don't see if the...

    31 Tudor Starter Quit Working

I am a newbie, I have had my car for 3 months. Today I adjusted the timing and then went to start it and left the cable that plugs into the distributor disconnected and cranked the motor and then the starter just quit working. I have not had an issue with the starter. I plugged the cable into...

1931 Tudor. Carburetor adjusting rod not turning

FINALLY fixed it. I removed the carburetor, heated it with a propane torch in the area where the GAV housing screwed into it until it got very hot, then dunked it in water. That finally freed the housing from the carb. I was able to unscrew the needle when I broke off the end of the gav housing...

1931 Model A Battery Charge Issue

Newbie here with a new-to-me Model A. Had it a few weeks. The battery was low when I got it, and I put a trickle charge on it that took several days to charge fully, then overnight the battery went dead. Zip. Too low for the trickle charge to kick on, so I got a 6 or 12 volt shomacher battery...

1931 Tudor. Carburetor adjusting rod not turning

I have had this car for two weeks and I am new to Model A's. Today the adjusting rod doesn't turn. Yesterday I was able to turn it clockwise to seat it and counter clockwise. The car starts and runs, but it seems like the mixture is rich. The choke operation in and out works fine. Any suggestions?

Did anyone see this 31 Tudor at Hershey?

Thanks Frank! Original paint, 21,000 documented miles, new interior and top in '07. Three owners. I've looked at some restored ones for a but less, but I think the documented history of this one which was first bought by a man at 60 who kept it until he was 90 is good. Anxious to get my...
