Thanks. This sounds like my symptom. The previous owner apparently replaced the manifold gasket (the bolts are new and shiny), but the windshield connector is old and grimy. I'm thinking (hoping) the windshield wiper circuit is the culprit.

I found a brass pipe plug. It should seal on its own, correct? No need for any tape (which properly wouldn’t work anyway with the engine heat?)

What is the easiest way to block off the manifold vacuum port to see if I have a vacuum leak in the wiper plumbing?
