Not much of a turnout in Orleans this year. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8zGfRkekCcY

Ideas to protect a new cement floor

My garage is like my wife. The more scars, wrinkles, and age spots; the more I love her!

    I have a question

George Washington was 6'2", Abe Lincoln was 6'4", both towered over a diminutive 5'10" Henry Ford!

    Tubular shocks

I was taught that those are called helper shocks. When your springs get weak it is easier and cheaper to install helper shocks instead of replacing the springs. What we called shocks had one purpose: absorbing shocks.

    Mascot... Airplane

The original has much more detail especially in the cylinders.

    Engine rebuild.

Perhaps an electric assist motor to help with the hills.

    Frame straightening

If the large end of the egg shape is the correct part of the original hole, I would weld a little bit to the small end of the egg shape and then sculpt it back to circular with a rat tail file.

    Home made tools

I would like to see any home made tools for a Model A. Let's start off with spring spreaders

    Engine angle

It has been over 50 years since I sat in Geometry class, but I believe, if using approximate numbers, (for each 2" you lower the front axle) the oil level at the back bearing would be about 3/32" lower than a level engine. Maybe just add a couple ounces of oil?

    Elec question from a beginner

You might see if any of the students at NHTI in Concord would like to help. When I was there in the early 70s I rebuilt a Honda engine in my dorm room and helped a fellow student build a VW trike in the parking lot...

    Dying art

Actually IMHO when someone hears a SUBJECT or PREDICTION that they agree with they don't reply because their viewpoint is already there. But, if they disagree with that viewpoint they are twice as likely to reply a counterpoint. So, it is not 2/3 of all people but rather 2/3 of those that...

    Positive vs negative ground

If I remember correctly: The Air Force taught that the Electrons moved from the negative to the positive. The Navy taught that the Holes ( or vacancies) moved from the positive to the negative.

    Is this frame worth saving?

I was going to try this, but when I flipped the frame, I just put my (sufficiently large) body weight on the frame, and the top of the frame broke which removed most of the sag. A plumbers wrench took out most of the twist. I then clamped a long piece of angle iron on the outside as a splint...

    Is this frame worth saving?

Call me crazy, but, I am going to try to save it! I have been welding for only a few years,so this project will be mostly to build up my self-confidence before I tackle a "good" Model A. I had assumed the frame sagged because the bottom stretched, but the top has also shortened by wrinkling...

    Is this frame worth saving?

Thanks everyone. I think I already knew the answer, but I had to ask.

    Is this frame worth saving?

When I pulled off the left motor mount and the previous repair patches, I found why the frame is sagging! Is there a best way to repair the damage?
