What to spray onto metel immeditely after removing rust?

I saw: fellow Model A guy keeps a garden sprayer with diluted Ospho in it. When he cleans up a rusted part he sprays a thin coat on and lets it dry. Rust: zero after years of sitting in the corner of the shop. I have a windshield frame that I some day may use. I cleaned it up several years ago...

Running board, what am I missing?

I R&Red the running boards on my '29 Tudor. The outer lip on that car is a stainless (perhaps chromed, I don't know) piece that is actually bent to capture the lip of the steel running board. I wrote it up with a few pictures at https://cedarcreekas.org/TechTopics/RandR_the_RunningBoards.pdf...

I was thinking of changing to 12 volt negative ground.

Tom's article on rewiring the horn is excellent, as are all of his writings! I'd add that using the 12v dropping resistor is a quick and dirty fix that can be used temporarily until the horn is rewound. As I have one in my car, I can attest that they get hot when the horn is used. I can also...

Decided against turn signals.....what about this idea?

I have added turn signals on my '29 Tudor. Sitting in the driver's seat, you can see the controller on the side of the steering column. There is NOTHING on the outside of the car that isn't on the original, all turn signal lights are part of the stock-looking lights of the car. Many use the...

    Measurement of frame sag

Ken Parker and I measured my A this way: Clamped a block of wood under the frame at one end, a second (same dimensions!) under the frame at the other end. Stretched a string line under the blocks from end-to-end. Used a third block as a measuring tool, placed it in various spots on the...

    Adding turn signals

The headlights on my car use the two-bulb headlight cans. The second socket is a dual filament socket which I use for park/turn lights. I use an amber bulb for the turn/park lights with LED tail lights. The combination works fine with a standard clicker. See...

    Garage lights

That type would have to fall into the "cheap" category. May be producing PSW but with unreliable frequency.... yuck!

    Garage lights

The LED bulbs that are intended to replace an equivalent incandescent all have electronics in the base to do that conversion.

    Garage lights

Be careful here! LED bulbs are made to simply replace an existing fluorescent with no rewiring needed, and others are made which REQUIRE rewiring. The two kinds are NOT interchangeable AFAIK.

    Garage lights

If a generator is cheap, in all likelihood it has a "modified sine wave" inverter, and a LOT of electronics have trouble with that. LED products are a significant example. There have been many RV fires caused by a small LED nightlight that was used while the RV was using a MSW inverter. The...

    U-haul open trailer

I towed my Tudor on a U-Haul car carrier from Denver to East Texas when I bought it. Taped cardboard onto the radiator and front glass parts. Towed with an F150 pickup. Took a rock to the windshield of the pickup but the A survived o.k. Taking the tape off the windshield frame took big chunks...
