Thanks all for the contact info. Will get in touch with them and see what they can do with my switch or suggestions for an acceptable alternative. Will post the outcome once done and running again.

Thanks alexiskai for the prompt response. Could you give me his contact info so I can get in touch with him? And does he have a flat repair cost or does it depend on what he needs to do?

Is their anyone that currently rebuilds 30-31 pop out ignition switches? Mine appears to be original and lately has been reluctant to pop out when key is inserted and turned. Thanks!

A little off the main point of Chris's thread but did anyone notice that he called us "boffins?' And if you did notice, do you know what a "boffin" is? Not a clue on my part so I looked it up. Turns out it originated from a character in a Dickens novel named Nicodemus Boffin and has morphed...

Since it has fuses that might need access I mounted ours with the supplied velcro tape to the bottom of the fuel tank, almost at the firewall, left side. Not noticeable normally unless you look from very low perspective. You could mount it behind the left kick panel but the way the plug comes...

Dittos to all the above. Had been thinking of installing turn signals on our '30 coupe for years and this post pushed me over the edge. Can't imagine how many miles I've driven behind Model A's with their turn signals still going after a turn so went with the *** unit with the auto cancel, not...

Now let's move to the next question: If you are going to use cannabis oil in your Model A, should you use detergent or non-detergent? This should provide 2-3 months discussion at the least!

Thanks OCMAFC for another great job with the Pancake Breakfast and prompt posting of the pictures! Curious if you have any statistics yet as to how many breakfasts served, how many Model A's, how many "other" cars, etc? Would be interesting to hear the "rest of the story."

Anyone know what gear ratio that axle would probably have? Also, what ratio would the worm drive type axle have? Thanks!

Hey you two! Didn't know a move was in your thoughts. We'll miss you guys out west. I'm sure you and your A's will take kindly to the climate change. Some great people there and some great Model A driving. The collecting junk again part shouldn't be a problem....seems like that's almost a...

Our local Ford dealer in Arroyo Grande had 7 pretty nice Model A's in their A-1 used car lot section yesterday. Hear no customers reached the "will sell for price" that the current owners were looking for so all 7 A's went back home. Dealership had BBQ, drinks, and a bounce room for the kids...

Hi Sean, A word of advice from Arroyo Grande, just south of San Luis, don't believe everything you read on line! We're not ALL oooold folks over here. Maybe the heat of the valley got to some people...... Just wanted to let you know the Cuesta Crankers are doing an "exercise your Model A"...

If the above checks don't find the problem, you might try removing the oil pan and checking the crank assembly to cam lobe clearance, especially when the engine is at the point of rotation where the forward movement of the cam is observed. Anything changed on the crank assembly, like added...

Would be interesting to now do your test with a 12v. battery and 12v. coils in the starter. We're presently running 12v. battery with original 6v. starter and I always thought it was pretty cool how fast it cranked and started. Sounded like it cranked about the same speed as a slow warm...

Good suggestion about the thickness of the oil. Also, you mentioned that you live in SoCal where there are many Model Aers. If you give a more precise area, probably someone would be willing to meet you and give a demo on driving/shifting. A few minutes face to face you'll learn far more than...

The General Universal Ignition Switch (UN 12040) mentioned in article by Steve, does it fit in the stock dash and not hit the fuel tank behind? That would be great as most switches I've seen are too deep, touching the fuel tank behind without being spaced out. If it does fit OK, are those...

Sorry, punched the wrong key. Stood for FORGET IT, DRIVE ON. Vince, moral of story is, there will always be a few that cause problems. Forget them and move on. FYI, as a result of your post, I visited your site for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed it. Great site and I will be back...

I was told a story years ago about a hitchhiker picked up by a rough, tough cross county truck driver. The hitchhiker was surprised to see posted on his dash the word "FIDO," assuming it to be a reminder of his favorite pet dog. How could a guy like this have a foo foo type dog and if he did...

ummmm, because it was there when I got the car and it looks cool? You're right, I'll take it out next time I have it apart. Thanks.
