    Shock question

The Rotoshims seem to be out of stock every time I check anyway.

    Starter Bendix

Hopefully you don't have to do that very often. I can't remember the last time I had my starter off and I am running 12 volts.

    Frame Speader.

I'm getting ready to help a friend install an engine. But I no longer have my frame spreader. I'm curious, could a rear spring spreader be used in a pinch for a frame spreader? If not, I will have to travel some miles to borrow one.

Still Worried About the Antique Car Hobby Being Dead or Dying??

Where I see it most is at our club. As the older folks pass on or can no longer attend, we are not getting new members, so our club is dwindling in size.

    Transmission Oil Temperature

It is not that I dislike the 85W-140, it is very hard to find GL-4 85W-140 but GL-4 140 is readily available. I have been told that GL-5 is not good for "yellow parts" in the transmission. Both Mitchells have brass synchro rings. Most 85W-140 oils are GL-5. The second part is Does the 85W-140...

    Transmission Oil Temperature

Mitchell recommends 85W-140 Gear Oil in their Synchro Transmission and O/D. I'm curious at what temperature 85W-140 "becomes" 140? I am considering using straight GL4 140W oil in my Mitchells.

    A bad omen.....

Our club has a couple of outings per month. Some of the places we visited on our tours, I would never been able visited on my own or knew they even existed. If someone's car needs work, the more experienced members will "guide" the newbs on how to do the work. For heavy lifting, everyone...

    intake boring

Y'all must be talking highway miles because I sure can't get that kind of mileage driving around town, which is what I do mostly.

    intake boring

Alexa (Amazon AI) sez this carburetor is not designed for my Model A. I should look on Snyder's Antique Auto for a compatible carburetor for my Model A.

    How Fast

I have Flat Head Ted's floaters and can easily overcome the traction of my 4.75/5.00 X 19 tires when braking. I think to only way to improve the braking is to put some fat tires on it. I don't see that happening any time soon.

    Hi-Mileage Effects of Balancing Beads

I have no where near 50,000 miles on my tires but I changed a tube due to a flat, I cut open the tube and the beads were black. This concerned me. Were the beads abrading my tubes? I don't have an answer. I did not install beads in my new tube tho.

    Newbie’s List for Spare Parts

Re: Newbie’s List for Spare Parts Is this a list of spare parts to keep in your garage or take on the road? If the road, I would ensure your car is in top shape before heading out and eliminate most of the items on your list.

    Pertronix flamethrower coils: spec's ?

I can imagine all of Pertronix components are made in China. That doesn't mean they are necessarily bad. People are buying Burtz engines aren't they?
