    Bleeding brakes- not working

I agree with Ford Freak. While you can certainly try to rebuild it, excellent quality new ones are still readily available. It yours is frozen, it is likely pitted beyond repair anyway.

    Bleeding brakes- not working

Yes, bench bleed the master cylinder before you put it in the car. Be careful to put some scrap pieces of wood or something similar between your vice and the master cylinder. Some years ago I got some barbed fittings to fit into the housing outlet(s) and I just use some clear tubing. I use a...

Need Advice on Removing Broken off Stud and Head

Dang. I hate broken bolts/studs. Yes to your question. Drain the water and loosely put the bolts back in. It is an old trick. Another idea - I made a head puller tool a few years ago from a piece of 3/8" flat stock that I drilled 4 9/16" holes to go above the plug holes in the heads. It...

    TIG welder recomendations

I use a Miller 215 Multiprocess machine. Yes, they are costly, but it works very well. If the look of the weld is not important, less expensive machines will do.

    Rebuilt starter

There is a place in Arlington, TX called Ream's Auto Electric. They have done all sorts of starter and generator work for me over the years. I highly recommend them.

    Brake Bleeding on 1940 Sedan

You can cap it if you want, but it's not necessary. Just remember to keep the fluid level in the master cylinder high enough so you don't pull any air into the system.

    New misfire - sticky valves?

One thing I have done to narrow down the problem is to one by one remove plug wires with the engine running to see which cylinder(s) is acting ugly.

    shipping frustration

I only ship via UPS now. Sad. If I am buying and the seller requires payment up front, I insist on paying via a means that I can dispute later should an issue arise. I've not had any major issues with packages shipped UPS. But, I have had things mailed via USPS to domestic addresses take...

    Thanks to yall

Yall are too funny! I have been very blessed in my career in 'corporate America' to be able to travel all over the world. Language is something I love to learn about. Let's keep those local accents alive and well! A few Texas versions of car words - wiring harness is pronounced 'waring...

    Thanks to yall

Happy New Year to Yall! I wanted to say a heartfelt thanks to those of you whom I have never met who have helped me with everything from coils to carburetors to brakes. As I try to pass along what I know to my son so that he can take care of our '34, all of this information is invaluable. I...

    Repair exhaust bolt hole

Thanks for the info. Always learning. Were the larger 7/16-14 bolts used in the front exhaust manifold bolts of all flatheads, more specifically the early, non-vented ones? I'm asking because I have a '34 motor that I plan to work on in 2021.

    Master cylinder fill cap

I'm trying to make an adapter for my master cylinder (M1050) so that I can use my pressure brake bleeder on it. I am having a heck of a time finding the thread type on the fill plug. I also see that some of the new master cylinders on the internet have what appears to be a removable plug...

Le Barron Bonney interior for 37

I also experienced something very similar a few years ago when I bought a LB kit for my '34. I got some help from one of LeBarron Bonney's local installers who worked with the team at LeBarron Bonney to get it sorted out. I don't guess that is an option any more. Would you like the name and...
