The coil I purchased did not have any information on if it needs a restistor. Just had printed info on package of 6 Volt Coil.

Changed from original coil on flathead 41 to a 6 volt round style coil and using the change up top for the distributor coil area. Should I install a restistor between the hot wire from the switch to the coil. Not using the resistor that is original on the car as it is burned out.

How many studs in the heads you need. Thanks

I too use that way of starting some of the time when my ford is hard to start. Jake Flemming in Dallas has a set up for the Lincoln v 12 using a switch to flip to start and then back to regular resistor for running. Gives the coil extra spark for starting.

Just pulled off the distribtor and put in new points. Now it is back firing and ask about adjusting the screw on the setting of the advance. My question is that looking at the front of the engine, on the left side of the distributor and down under the cap, a screw that can be adjusted either...
