Which way should the generator motor if the fields are correct?

No paint and where there was rust i polished it with sand paper.

What if the field coils were reversed ? would that cause all this trouble?

But the battery charger showed a reverse hookup so there is a clear line from the 3rd brush to the case.

I do not have an ampmeter on my battery charger but i did the test and the ampmeter in the car showed nothing

If the generator is working shouldnt i be able to test it by putting the multimeter to the brass out put on the generator and ground the other lead and get a reading of some sort? Because on the BAT side of the cut out it shows 6 volts but no amperage and if you go to the other side it shows...

It motors in the clockwise direction the best that it ever has. Flashing the fields on the forum here it said to start the car and use a jumper wire to by pass the cut out. No i do not have an original cut out

Armature tested good i also tried the starter on an 8 volt battery and a 12 volt battery same thing just wont turn fast or with power and the commutator is shiny clean

I under cut the armature tested it for shorts it never put out any voltage until after i cleaned it up then it only puts out 0.24 volts on the multimeter when i turn it with a drill
