    Tudor rear side window molding

I want to take the molding off the rear side windows on my 29 Tudor to paint them. I removed the screws and took off the bottom piece, but can't figure out how the sides and top are mounted. They are firmly attached and I figure brute force will just ruin them. Is there a clip behind them...

    Electrical/Ground

Got her fixed today. Turned out to be the cut off switch on the cable. Thanks for all the help.

    Electrical/Ground - Solved

First of all, thanks for all the help and suggestions. The problem turned out to be in the cut off switch I have on the cable to the starter. Originally when I cleaned the ends I didn't think to disassemble the switch to clean the inside and the screw that cuts off the voltage. I did that...

    Electrical/Ground

I have only checked the starter in a cursory manner. That is where I am going to concentrate next. I'm done for the day and will look at that first thing in the AM.

    Electrical/Ground

When the car stopped I had no electricity registering on the gauge, no lights, no horn, just no electricity at all. I do believe it is a connection somewhere also, but haven't been able to find it. I do have a voltmeter, but so far either get full current or no current. If there was a bad...

    Electrical/Ground

Last time I drove my 29 Tudor it started right up. I drove it to my front yard to wash it and shut it off. When I went to restart it, no juice whatsoever. Since it had set for awhile before this ride I suspected a bad battery. I put a charger on it for a couple of hours and it started right...

    Shifting fork pins

Thank you both. I want to use the original style pins if possible so I'll try the vice grip suggestion.

    Shifting fork pins

I'm rebuilding a shift tower and have a question for anyone that has done so before. As I reassemble I can't figure out how to get the shifting fork pins in. They are supposed to go in from inside the housing so the head will be up when the tower is bolted to the transmission and I have tried...

    Oversize piston question

Thanks all for the advice. The cylinders were re-bored by the previous owner and now measure 3.9305 each. Since I can only find new pistons in even sizes ie .02, .04 etc I guess I will try honing the .0005 to make the ones I have fit.

    Oversize piston question

I am working on rebuilding an engine that I picked up at an estate auction. The block had been rebuilt with new valves, babbitt, and lifters before the fellow rebuilding the car had died. I am ready to order a set of pistons for it and measured the bore. The cylinders are .0555 over. Does...

    Emergency brake cross shaft

Thank you all who replied. Burt's did have one and are sending it to me today.

    Emergency brake cross shaft

Does anyone know of a source for an emergency brake cross shaft with levers? I am working on a 29 roadster that I got as a basket case and it didn’t have one. I can get a shaft at any of the parts dealers, but they all say the levers are not being reproduced. No luck at swap meets so far...

    '57 Custom instrument cluster removal

Thanks for the advice. Do the studs have threads and nuts, or are they just pop outs? I hate to try and pop the right side loose and find out I had to find a nut to take off somehow.

    '57 Custom instrument cluster removal

I am having trouble with my speedometer and instrument cluster lights on a ‘57 Custom 300. I want to take the instrument cluster out to go over it. I removed the small plate above the steering column. I took the two screws out of the upper lip of the cluster trim. Gently prying with a...

Brassworks radiator owners - How close is your fan blade to the upper neck?

I had the same problem. When I checked the front motor mount I found it had loosened. Turning the nut a few turns cured the problem.
