I would have to think the shaft fits through the rail, it's already through the frame now. Doesnt the steering gear and sector slide through the rail during installation? I'm wondering if the shaft can slide out towards the engine side once the end cover is removed. No?

Hello all, I've looked but cant find anything related to my question. On my 28 roadster 7 tooth steering gear. Is it possible to remove the pitman arm and the sector shaft adjuster cover and wiggle the old sector shaft out for inspection? Can it be done without removing the column?

I'm interested Bill. What brand and part # did you use? Or from what model vehicle. I'd like to give that a try.

Yes It is an aftermarket frame using the side mounts on the small block chevy. After researching it more I do know now what I didn't know then. I will have to cut the mounts off and weld new tabs further up front for the integral mounts that are on the front of the Flathead engine to sit on the...

Hi all, my SBC 32 Coupe is nice but I don't think I will be happy until it has a customized Trick flathead resting between the rails. If anyone can steer me in the right direction let me know. Is Flathead City my best bet? If anyone has one done and for sale give a shout.

I have a 28 roadster and I have a question, should there be rubber hood bumpers down on the lower sides to isolate the hood sides from the body when they are latched? Also, Did the 28 Roadsters have a catch or some type of support to hold the hood open when checking the oil etc?
