    Does anyone have these clips?

I was able to get new door trim clips at my local NAPA store. (Much like the ones in your pics). They showed me quite a variety in their catalogue.

    Part Identification

My guess is exterior door trim. Closed beveled end facing forward, (so trim does not hit body when opening door), open end fits over tab of door handle. Not sure what year.

What kind of parts are these??

The photo with the single piece looks like a part used to hold the headliner in place. The semicircular notch on the top of the piece is to skirt the bow that goes across the roof.

    Mystery noise video?

Mystery noise solved. My engine is a 1949 Merc and has a separate starter plate. The plate had come loose or warped according to my mechanic causing the flywheel to hit an edge of the plate when the clutch was engaged. Plate was straightened and re-fitted, no more aweful noise. Sure beats...

    Mystery noise video?

Every thing had been working properly until Thursday. No problems with clutching or shifting, no suspect noises. As I said, I have only put about 200 miles on it since the rebuild. When I last parked it in the garage everything was fine, went to start it two days later and the noise was there...

    Mystery noise video?

I did try to look at the pressure plate fingers. I know they're impossible to depress toward the clutch by hand but I did notice that there was a small amount of wiggle side to side, with one of them in particular. Not sure if that is normal?

    Mystery noise video?

A local trusted mechanic removed the engine, ****** and rear end. Engine was sent to a reputable rebuilder. I am not sure who re-installed the clutch /pressure plate, my guess is the it was the mechanic. I am taking it to him on Monday. No question that the rear will have to be dropped and the...

The engine is 1949 Mercury rebuilt last November, ****** is 1948 (also rebuilt) so yes it is a fresh assembly. I had been driving for about 45 minutes with no noise. Parked in the garage for two days went to start it and made this noise right away. When I pulled the floor I could not find the...
