1934 Rotor turns but no spark to ignite

Thanks Terry,OH and Rotorwrench! Getting some books and reconnecting the wires. The generator I got is a rebuilt with no black and red wires sticking out. I'll also put on the new harness and clean the fuel pump and connectors. We just wanted to see if the engine runs smooth without taking it apart.

1934 Rotor turns but no spark to ignite

We cannot figure out where the coil is or ever was and also how to get charge to the distributor. After putting in a rebuilt generator and new cutout we connected the + wire to the screw on the distributor that the looks like it is for a radio condenser( the same with the - wire did nothing)...

    1934 Tudor Windows

This is one of the back windows intact. On the other side..I have taken out the window and the frame channel setup attached to the handle. 1934 V8 cranking pretty

Nothing happened when I connected the battery + post to ground wire and the negative post to the relay to the starter. Then when we connected the + post to the relay to the starter and the negative post to ground...it cranked. We are still puzzled by this but this is how it cranked often and...

    1934 V8 cranking pretty

The retainer/seal? that screws on to the casing supporting the bearings. We did not know that it was a screw on so we busted it off thinking it was rusted shut. My bad, but that's where we are at. I think a pin flew off as well. Yeah I'm worried about sparks jumping off the spark plugs.

    1934 V8 cranking pretty

After sitting since 1957, it cranked with 6 volt optima, replaced battery cables, relay, secured all ground connections, and cleaned starter. Had to put it in 3rd gear and moved it back and forth then the starter kicked in. I'm looking for spare plug boots and generator retainer nut and seal...
