Since we're doing Banjo questions,,, Is there supposed to be a seal inside the axle tube near the narrow end? If so , I presume the tube must be removed to install it. Does it just hammer in? How does the old one come out if there's one in there?
I am looking for info on these tiny engines from early falcons and such.
Are the 144 and 170 basically the same engines with slightly different bore and stroke, or are there any other differences?
I poked around on the Summit site and found a water pump pulley that looked deeper.
I went ahead and ordered it . We'll see if it works when it gets here.
3 bolts hold on the lower pulley. There are 2 v belt grooves in it. The upper pulley also has 2 grooves and is held on to the water pump with 4 bolts. The alternator and lower pulley align. the water pump pulley ends up about 5/8 to 3/4 too far forward.
In order for my pulleys to line up, the water pump needs to be about 5 inches deep from the back to the pulley mount. The auto parts stores here only stock one that is 5 5/8 deep. Any suppliers?
I'm pretty sure you nailed it 51 merc-ct ! Mine is missing that spring on the drawing you show so this must be it. There's nothing but air to attach the other end to, but I'm assuming once I get the transmission in I'll find the spot.
These two springs were in a box carefully labeled "Emergency Brake Parts". Since there are two, I imagine one is right, and one is left. Anyone got a picture of where they go?
I'm looking for carpet for my 53 Ford Ranchwagon. I've searched the web but can find no one who does the molded carpet for a 53 wagon. Other years, yeah. Anyone have a supplier?
This is the area where the brake cable comes through the firewall. I think I'm missing a piece here as there are two holes above the end of the cable cover, and the hole in the firewall is larger than the cable end. What am I missing here?
