So sorry to hear that.

The one Kirk White sold housed a 6 volt Optima perfectly with terminals on the proper side. Got one in my 40 wagon and 51 Victoria. Need one for my 51 wagon. Any body know what happened to him? His phone rings and rings. Phil Swanson

I was thinking about the one with the Ford logos on the sides like Kirk White used to sell. His phone is not working.

Anybody know who is making the Ford case that takes the Optima battery these days? I couldn't get in touch with the old supplier.

Thanks to both of you. Yes I know Rick Mac. I bought my new wood from him. I just never thought of calling him. Didn't realize he was the 49-51 woodie advisor. I have been to his shop in Tacoma. He makes the best wood for these cars. THANKS!

I am restoring a 51 woody and wondering if there is an expert in the house. There is plenty of information on passenger cars but very little on the wagons. Looking for instructions on installing all the upper and lower tailgate rubber weather stripping. The Dennis Carpenter drawings don't show...

Does anybody have the correct paint formula or source for the correct wine colored inside garnish rails? Thanks, Phil

No its not nearly that dark. Look at the Model A above avatar. That's the color.

Re: Formula For Chocolate Brown Paint On Inside 51 Woody Do they list interior paints? Looks just like your Model A woodie color.

Does anybody have the formula for the chocolate brown paint as found on the interior of the 1951 woody? Thanks, Phil Swanson p

Do you guys know what color paint is correct for the engine on a 40 Ford truck? Thanks!

Does this mean either type is ok for the 47 crab as long as you run the right rotor for a given cap?

Where is the best place to buy a new cap and rotor for the 47 crab? I think that is the problem.

I'll check that next with my old Simpson analog meter. Thanks. Points are new and set up on a Sun machine but still could be the problem.

I put a jumper between the neg battery post and the neg side of coil. Still no spark. It's frustrating because the system is so simple. I am looking to the cap and rotor next.

We worked on it again last night. Put another new condenser and coil from Napa on it and as usual it started right up. We drove it about 50 feet and it died again. Pulled a plug and checked for spark and none. Turned key on again and checked voltage on the - side of the coil. 6.2 volts...

We checked for a fuel problem and getting a squirt. No spark though. Next time we take it out, I am bringing a hotwire and a multimeter. Thanks!

The resistor is bypassed but we are running a 6v coil that doesn't require a resistor from Napa.

Changed the condenser, same thing happened and needed another tow.
