I had the same problem and it ran fine after removing fuel filter. Cast iron sediment bowl so I will get one for a tractor if I put a filter back on.

Planning on going!

I have an engine that has a spark plug base in the oil drain hole, it is the same size, I left it in there with no leaks. I was surprised they were the same threads.

A lot of cars survived because someone put a metal roof on them, if they are outdoor drivers then a metal roof works. I took one off of my 29 that I put back original but the unrestored 30 tudor looks like a 1950s car with metal roof and 35 ford wheels.

Probably which machine made the part, if there was a problem they would want to know where it was coming from.

Wood wedge or one of those plastic (really strong) ones that Stihl sells for driving in a tree. Just something to get it started to where you can grab it.

I think they made a change in the cross member during 29 in preparation for the 30s and used them on the 29 style with different mounting some how. So if my memory is right, they were interchangeable for a few months.

I was there late tuesday and wednesday, I really enjoyed talking to everyone and I brought home a pile of parts for my off road A project including 4 21 inch wheels at $10 each. Looked in a trash can and found a hand operated wiper on a piece of windshield frame, I needed one of those, dumpster...

The dollar is worth a tenth of what it was back in the 70s so you would have to put it in today's money I guess. When the Model A was new the money was backed by gold and silver, that is why coins would get worn down, they were constantly circulated because they had lots of value back then, now...

I am planning on going, I have not been before, they called the spring one off so I was glad to see this special one get scheduled.

I think the 29 is very close to the 30-31 other than the cowl where there is no wood so you wouldn't be far off going by that. Even the trunk lids are the same. I have a 30 coupe with no interior if you need a specific photo of something. There is a swap meet in Luray next month, might meet...

I got a late 28 motor off of craigslist, covered in grease and road dirt, I only bought it because of the price and all the dirt kind of told me that nobody had messed with it in the last 70 years or so. Anyway it didn't have a dip stick and had plugged the hole it's self with oil and road dirt...

The manifold might still be good, I could use it.

I have rebuilt several original valves, they aren't hard to rebuild once you pry off the washer from the shaft that sits on the packing. I used graphite rope to repack them with. The only one that I couldn't rebuild was a repop one from the 70s, the casting of the cone shape piece was so bad...

My unrestored car is like that though I can get the crank in while I am timing the engine, it doesn't disengage properly to where if I forget about it, the crank spins when I start the engine. It would obviously be dangerous to hand crank one that is not aligned properly. I think the problem...

We must have had the same rain that you were in over here, it rained hard for a long time. I have a vacuum powered fan on my tudor but I don't think it would have done a whole lot in that rain with the windows up. A small 6v electric fan could be rigged up instead and that would probably do some...

Attached are photos from the 1948 Sears catalog showing the carburetor and the price for the core Zenith that they want in exchange. Not sure what they did with the Zeniths that they got as they don't seem to be selling them in the catalog.

I single clutch going up and most of the time down shifting but double clutch if my speed it up when down shifting. My uncle could shift a model A without using the clutch at all, it was amazing to see.

I think they put them on while the body is off on the assembly line which is how I did it, easier when standing over it than laying under it.

I have not tried it but I have heard of mounting the manifold that has sagged up side down and heating it really hot and putting a weight on the exhaust end and letting it sag back into proper alignment. Also I heard that the manifolds with the extra metal for heaters, autolite I think, are not...
