Ol Ron that is a UNDERSTATEMENT! Guys think the parts should cost the same or less than big flathead parts. I have been hunting for an Aluminum V860 Cam Gear for 2yrs. I have a STEEL 1 but want an Aluminum 1.

620BS was actually for Hydroplanes and dad would spin them 7600+ rpm. The 620B is more of a Midget Cam, more torque. There was also a 620-03 and 620. The 404jr was the wildest of all the 60 cams. That cam blew up a lot of engines

A set of Isky Mushroom Lifters for the 60hp to use a Isky 620BS Cam. What would a set of Mushroom cost/worth? Lifter bores are already undercut for them.

Aluminum Cam gears were aftermarket only. The OEM Fiber Gears would wear out quickly or break under the. "RACE CAM" spring pressures when turning them 7000rpm. Was a guy in California remaking them but he passed away. He had not made any in 10yrs. Have 2 guys racing each other now to get some...

Oakhurst when I have copies in hand, It will be posted here and many other places for people.

35 would be a French 60. The 60 didn't show up in the U.S. till 1937

FINALLY after 3yrs of looking High and Low, Flipping over Rocks and looking everywhere. FINALLY found a Digital Copy of the Book 🙏 Now I have to sit down with my book and verify it is the "PRINT COPY" of the book. Wont be long now before the 2nd printing will be available.

Why replace the valves? Valves & guides are out there. Factory V860 Valves are STAINLES STEEL Dad made up a set of 1pc Press in Guides and had Ferrea make a set of Oversize Intake Valves. Problem is assembly... Spring, Retainer & Keepers have to be installed in the lifter galley.

I reached a road block with the reprint. Had the 1st few pages scanned from my book. They looked like scans/photocopies. Was not happy with the resaults. Spent $120.00 to get dad's computer fixed with hopes the digital copy would be in there... NO LUCK So besides, work, prep'n my old house to...

Feel free to msg me. I am currently going through and cataloging dad's stash of 60 parts. Being around limited Inboard Hydroplanes my whole life I know lots of guys with parts.

Thanks Brian! I have 3 more (2ft x 3ft x 2ft) plastic totes to go through and catalog. Than onto Dad's stash of the good stuff (.010, .020, .030,... 37 & 40 Bearings)

Thats what I was thinking they were. Also have suffix- "J" "H" "N-3" for 40 rods

Guys I am LOOSING whats left of my mind with all these crazy bearings Ford made. Have 3 Blue boxes marked- 92-A-6211- F I can't find the "F" suffix anywhere. Its a 40 style bearing with NO sides but... The shells when checked with Calipers are 1.970". When I check shells from a Orange Box...

Ol Ron there are 4 versions of the U.S. V860. Tin Side (actually stainless steel) were casted in 36. 37 Iron Side (casted in 37 and used for 37-38-early 39) 40 Iron Side (casted in 39) And a 40 service block (looks like a 37 but uses a 40 crank & oil pan)

Re: Oil filter installation in ‘38 V8-60 Tapping off the oil pressure feed will only filter 30% of the oil if your lucky. Remember a oil pump on a 60 is UP FRONT driven by the crank. So the oil has to travel through the whole motor to get to oil pressure feed in the back. Best way to do it...

a v860 is 136ci What is a Model A or B???? DOUBLE the c.i.? I would hope that a engine twice its size had more power from the get go SMH

Yes tiz I :-)

There is always that 1 guy LOL Midget Racers, Hydroplane Racers and Small Cigar Box Boat builders will strongly disagree. To make 140hp and spin 7600rpm while tipping the scale at a whopping 200lbs.... Id say it fit a nitch well :D

Wait till you see all the different ones I post this weekend... There has to be 7-8 different styles in that cigar box. Not 16 of the same though... Thought of maybe using 8 and 8 if I needed to. I have a set of N.O.S. Isky Adjustable V860 Lifters I will post a pic of also for you. The...
