    Light switch pin out

Thanks for the detailed reply Joe. The switch did not come with the car it was a swap meet pick up, I think it only has 3 positions and off appears to be in the middle, AR is a definite possibility as we got lots in Australia. In fact my roadster is an AR. I have a 29 rolling chassis that I may...

    Adjustable Tappets

There is a method that you can use that I have not used on a model A yet, but an old motorcycle mechanic put me on to it when I was restoring a WD matchless G3L350 and have used on lots of KTM off road enduro bikes which are difficult to get at with feeler gauges. You just need to know what the...

Can rods be checked for straightness without special equipment?

Thanks for the replies I have a small lathe and a Mill/Drill, not terribly accurate. I had to look up what a last word indicator was, seems to be a dial indicator with a little leg on it, I think I have one. I don't have any "V" blocks. I don't think my skills and machines are are up to the...

They will not be going around the block again, I wonder how well it ran with only one compression ring. Brendan

    Piston orientation

If the pistons are supposed to have the split to the cam then they must have been in the wrong way round!

    Main bearings Babbitt unusual

After cleaning up the crank i tested with plasti gauge front and center 2 thou, rear about 6 thou. Block seems standard size ( I have a bore gauge coming). I have also ordered a Lisle micrometer hone. Apparently they work well and can hone to next oversize.

Can anyone tell me which way the split in the piston faces, I marked the cap but not the rod (fool). They must have had an issue finding piston rings at the last rebuild, Have a close look.
