    Update on Ol' Ron

About 12 years ago I called Ron after hearing his liking for an L100 cam. He sent me one to go in the late block that I was building. The engine has 3-97's, Offie heads and a crab ignition. Have driven my 41 Pickup for 5,000 miles so far and it runs fine. Thanks Ron.

41 pick up fuel tank sending unit

I managed to salvage the tank on my '41 pickup (with a lot of cleaning) and used a Drake unit. No problem in 12 years.

    Cleaning the Gas Tank

My '41 pickup tank was nasty. I put sharp edged rocks and a couple of gallons of gas in the tank. Shook it back and forth multiple times over two days and poured this out. Repeated until it looked clean. Then used a tank cleaner solution. Then used POR 15 sealer. Been good for 10 years. I use...

    8ba 275 carb options

In my 41 Pickup with a 4 speed ****** I have a late block 276 CID with an L100 cam, 3-97's, Offie heads and crab ignition. It runs great with good pull thru the gears. Drive it around town often. I wouldn't change a thing.

Fuel tank dipping & sealing opinions welcome

I put a bunch of sharp rocks and a couple gallons of gas in my tank. For several days a partner and I shook the tank vigorously and then emptied the tank. Did this several times until it ran clear. Then used a kit by Por 15 to coat the insides. I mounted a large filter on the frame and no...

    L100 Camshaft using 59ab valves

For whatever it is worth here is my experience with an L100 in my 276 with 3- 97's. I like the acceleration thru the gears, but if the RPM's go below 2000 the engine will buck. I don't go over 4000 because I like to be able to drive home. A T5 manual shifter is a nice ****** for this...

    3- 97's Installed

Installed Uncle Max rebuilds. Engine runs better now. I have two conditions that most BARNERS don't like. ...no pressure regulator ...straight linkage instead of progressive If the wrong way works why should I worry.

    '40 and '41 Pickup

That is true.....my 41 was originally a 6 and the radiator mount was further ahead than a 8 to accommodate the longer engine.

    Lawsons 97's ( LC ) + vintage kits

If I attempt a swap copper will be a chore, but steal would be much more difficult to fish it around and make the bends. Why not copper it was OEM.?

    Lawsons 97's ( LC ) + vintage kits

I recently had a 97 flood out. There was a small glob of rubbery stuck on the end of the needle valve allowing fuel to pour into the bowl. I use a mechanical pump without the site bowl. It has a very fine screen and there was no evidence of any debris there. I use a rubber fuel line which is 10...

    New 1940 Truck project

Another way to identify a 1941. The tailgate does not have a V8 imprinted on it. That year offered 4,6 and 8 cyl. engines. Mine was a 6 which had a radiator mounting farther ahead. That had me confused for awhile. :)
