Is the engine using the original Fuel Pump? If user went electric and did not plug where the fuel pump rod rides the camshaft, you will loose oil pressure. Just another thought.

Keep in mind there was a BIG difference in gasoline formula back when those spec's were made and todays mixes. If you try to match those specs I would use the premium at the pump and NO alcohol.

Here's my HOMEMADE overdrive. I used a '53 Borg Warner unit and have all the advantages, ie free wheeling, electric shift, kick down etc. Total cost -$100. Disadvantage-- you have to pull the "lock-out" cable to back up. I usually just leave it locked out unless on the highway anyway.
