Found in a Grain Warehouse Attic

Valuable information. I always tell people a new _____ costs the same reguardless of the condition or existance of the old one. Sheet metal may be an exception.

    Seat Belts ?

Good idea to check state requirements. Wisc code 347.48 Safety belts says (2) Type and manner of installing. All such safety belts must be of a type and must be installed in a manner approved by the department. The department shall establish specifications and requirements for approved...

    Gas tank valve size

I have good luck with the dirty leg. Works well with the fine rust that washes off the top of the tank. The filter is a stand pipe that traps water and rust in the bottom of the tank that promotes future rust. I prefer to get rid of the trash.

Is there an anti-reflective window film to improve night driving?

The window film would most likely just make it worse. It you are really looking for a solution I would try the auto darking mirrors common on newer cars and available aftermarket from many sources.

    Most Liberal Insurance Underwriters?

The policies I checked all have a trip purpose limitation. It's not where you go it's why you made the trip that counts. If you go to a show and stop at your place of employment that seems ok. They all allow maintenance trips. Go for gas and stop at work. Friend used to always say he was road...

Not only is Dave's book the authority he is kind enough to post here on a regular basis.

    Leaners...You guys hate leaners...?

A Model T coil wired with the high voltage attached to the car body will get their attention without saying anything. Doubt they will return.

    Emergency brake linings

Brake machines have a bit for drilling rivet holes. They are very similar to the bits sold for countersinking flat head screws. A brake shop should have one and be able to help you. Look for a shop that does truck brakes.

Ford Related: Old Cars Publication Mailings

I dropped my subscription because they had so little info related to my vintage of cars. While I subscribed I had no problem with delivery. Nothing to suggest.

    68A seat base

I think Marco is right on the money. A front seat is very easy to burn or tear. Replacement adjustable seat from a junk yard didn't fit so just fasten it to the original base with wood screws. Seems very likely easy repair to me. The lower base exactly matches my non adjustable 68B.

    New cork sinks

The coating on the cork does not prevent it from absorbing liquid, it prevents it from drying out. Keeping the cork wet also prevents it from drying out. As in the past I offer the comparison to the wine bottle. The uncoated cork in a wine bottle does not dissolve in the alcohol after decades of...

    flywheel housing crack repair?

I suspect many of them are cracked by dragging them on the floor. Since there is very little strength in the housings I used ones with cracks at the lower bolt holes without hesitation. The strength is all in the cone shaped transmission housing and once it's attached the flywheel housing is...

    sediment bowl question

The screen fits into a recessed area in the housing. The cork gasket goes in next and is wide enough to hold the screen in place. Is the neoprene gasket wide enough to do that?

    Valve Job Blues

Having had two seats come out of a rebuild (well known rebuilder) I decided I would only replace bad seats in the future. These were replaced solely because hardened seats are "better". If they are bad then no choice but no need to create possible failures.

    Joint MARC / MAFCA Clubs

I agree with Marco also. Since a major portion of the club's dues go to the magazine publication a combined club would need to eliminate one magazine or substantially increase dues. This eliminates the only advantage I have ever heard promoted, the reduction of dues. No financial gain and a...

    Gas Stations that offered SERVICE

I'm sure it happened in places. During the 50's I worked in at least 3 different places where it didn't happen and never heard of a local place that helped create failures. All were on US 12 with heavy tourist traffic so the opportunity existed. Most of our replacement business income was tires...

what do you collect of parts ...and how many?

When you need a part you buy one. Then you find a better one, and then an even better one. After a few it becomes a habit to always buy that part. Then it becomes another hobby to organize storage.
