    Fellas... I've had enough...

I haven't been apart of the forum that long, but luckily haven't been attacked for asking questions from my very little knowledge of these fine great cars we are all interested in. One thing people need to keep in mind about others points of view is we are all a part of the same species and...

I'm thinking about running Lester 525/550-19 (front) and 600-19 (rear) on the '30/31 Tudor when I finally purchase one.

    Steel wheels

Charlie, I always prefer original wire wheels over '40s wheels.

    Starting to save.

I enjoyed my time living in Philly. At first it was touch having to ride Septa every where as I grew up in Southern CA and having a 1964 Galaxy as my daily driver. Hope Philly is treating you well.

John, I'll have to look into that for sure. My aim is to have ample torq for in the mountain roads and to hopefully cruise comfortably at 60mph

Thank you mshmodela and Mike! it surely feels good to have a job again even if it is a part timer. On a side note. Here is what I was thinking for bolt-on parts for a stock A engine. Scalded Dog Vortex intake (dual Tol carbs), LS III head, Mallory single point Distributor, and Mitchell...

Thank you Katy and Steve! One major reasons for choosing the Tudor is the extra room for camping gear. We going camping about once a month in the Gila National Forest. P.S. I am already researching bolt on hop up parts for a stock engine to make driving in these mountains easier/more enjoyable.

Thank you mysprecher! It will take a couple year to save, but I've been looking forward to this for over a year. Our town is so small I'll be using the A as a daily driver here.

    Starting to save.

After moving from Philly to rural NM a year ago I finally landed a job! It's only part time and low pay, but it will allow me to start saving for a '30-'31 Tudor! Can't wait to start working again and bringing in money. I can not thank this forum enough for being such a great group of people...

    Non Model A & B Distributors

Sorry to bring back an old thread, but I was doing some research on dual points and found the modern Mallory 2301105. When using one of these do you keep the stock coil and is the distributor a 6v setup? My plan is to run one with a Scalded Dog single intake/97, Lion III, Y-dual headers and...

New guy saving for an A.

Thank you Anthony and Chuck. Anthony I'll be keeping the four banger as I don't really need the extra speed/cost of the flat V8 and can wait until my wife and I get her fathers '31 that has all that in it, but that is a full rebuild project (body is in amazing shape) Chuck that link will be...

New guy saving for an A.

Zach, good running into you here. I've been following your work over on FB/IG for some time now. Also enjoy the engineering you've done on flatheads V8/4bangers. That is a good option but I'm aiming for a complete driver with a hard top (I need a roof for all weather use) to start with and...

New guy saving for an A.

Texas I'll look into that for sure. There is a gorgeous 1929 Model A that rides around here every few months. I'll have to track it down and chat with the owner to see if he knows of any clubs.

New guy saving for an A.

Thank you everyone for the great help! I will keep an eye out for a restored stock A coupe in the coming year. My plan is to turn it into a prewar hot rod with keeping the body/frame 95% stock. I will remove the fenders, have the top chopped 4" and lower the front/rear 4" while keeping...

New guy saving for an A.

Thank you for the info. As for clubs I live in rural NM and not sure if there are any clubs in my area. My goal is to get a great condition A.. Is a budget of $15,000 do-able?

New guy saving for an A.

My wife's father built a '31 back in the early '60s and has all the early hot rodding tricks (flathead V8, quick change, juice brakes..ect) that we will be getting sometime in the coming years. Which can't not come soon enough for me!
