    C4 slipping from 2nd to 3rd

Hi there! Im having some trouble with my friend's C4 We rebuild it with new clutch plates, gaskets and seals, and we made air-checks throughout the process. Brakebands were as good as new. The the reason why we took it apart, was because it was spilling oil and slipping from 2nd to 3rd. After...

    upgrading a 289

Hi Paul. We are looking for better torque at low rpm. My own Fairlane with the same drivetrain, was equipped with Edelbrock Performer RPM intake and cam and (i Think) Holley 540. I put in a milder cam and put on Roch. Q-jet. It Works fine. What Would you Think about the same upgrade in a Galaxie?

It IS a 289 and a C4. The transmission seems to be a '66, so my guess Would be that the engine is too.

    C4 shift troubles!

Actually the only reason i have, to think it's a C4 is because of the number on the servo-cover, witch indicates to be from 1966 (C6AP-7D027-C) We drove it in first dot after Neutral (as i do in my own)

    C4 shift troubles!

Hey Guys! My friend just bought a '63 Galaxie with 289/C4. I Think it might have ****** issues, but i'll let you be the judges. When you hold still and accellerate, it starts in 2nd and is pulling well, but then it shift to 1st for 'bout 2 seconds, then 2nd and 3rd. Why is that? It...

    1966 289 valve adjustment!

Thank you for all your replies. An Update: yes, the rockers are adjustable, and i used the remove-play-plus-1/2-turn method, and the in tripple checked that the rockers wasn't too tight after the lifters bled down, and checked the valves opened and closed properly at the right time. I haven't...

    1966 289 valve adjustment!

Yeah, the Galaxie is also a bit bigger and heavyer than the Fairlane. My Fairlane is like family to me. My grandfather bought it in '75, when he wrecked his '64 Plymouth Savoy.
